Shot timing makes no sense

Ive played the game for a good amount of hours, but ive never hit a green(perfect) shot ever. Is there any way to disable the timing mechanic because it makes no sense to me that a red shot apparently never goes out, its just bad accuracy. and for the life of me can anyone tell me what shots i should be doing? flat shots just puts me into an endless rally,

If you're not able to get green shots you're probably hitting the ball too early. The best shots to use are, slice for return of serve and top spin for most other shots. Flat shots drain a lot of stamina. Better to use ordinary shots not aggressive shots. Most of the time I can get green shots, maybe 60-70%.
