Cross-play (PC/Steam + Consoles)

looks like console has a lot more players. for me ps4 vs pc is the question.
hoping to play multiplayer PvP. doubles would be interesting with four people if even possible.

cross-play would solve any pc player woes, which is better for overall community as the shared content seems mainly to be coming from PC players (as per their Tools app). can we ask psyonix (i.e. rocket league) for help? i appreciate that big ant is continuing to update and polish this game.

also the console version (disc) costs $40. but the digital version costs $60? :(
