I very seldom hit the net, though my serve is not that fast yet. If I am not mistaken and I am open for correction, you need to at least hit the ball when the indicator is still in green, better if its full green. You have to time pressing your hit button during that green indicator..

Yes, the indicator starts off red, but if wait before hitting the ball, it will turn orange, then green.

I hardly ever have problems with the serve even with a new career. It depends ofcourse on what level you play. Starting a cereer I mostly play amature level and after a few games move up to semi pro.

Yeah i don't have problems with my serve too make it very fast and some times make aces too so again IMO there is not something bad with the serves not a bug there.

This is exactly the reason why you should play through every tutorial!
You're supposed to hold the button during the serve and release it when the meter turns green.

Serves are OK. I play career from the very beginning on level PRO and I can hit aces to even best players with my 50 overall newbie :>
Evry serve animation has its own time to hold the button so its tricky to manage but when You do, you can turn the wole game on your side with perfect serves. Practice and will be fine ;)

Whats more, you need to hold for a good second or so.. that often catches out new players as it feels like a long time to press the button. Once you have the timing down, you can even turn the meter off and hold and release by instinct / watching the height of the ball during the serve.
