"Super Black Bass SNES"-like on Steam?
Hi Folks!

I got BIG into the game "Super Black Bass" on SNES back in the day and I've been searching fruitlessly for a game like it on Steam, so I can move beyond just emulating nostalgia haha.

I saw that this was somewhat popular and so checked out its trailers and info but it seems to be lacking the feel I'm going for and instead, it uses the first-person or third-person pov from a "fisherman on shore or in boat". INSTEAD, I'm hoping to find the fishing mechanics and pov to be more like (ideally) the top-down follow-the-lure-and-fish like what was in SUPER BLACK BASS SNES, or if not at least the underwater-follow-the-lure pov of "Bass Masters Classic: Pro Edition (SNES)".

To be clear I want:
- game follows lure (i.e. you're not just standing on shore or in a boat and watching the line come back to you, the focus is always on the fish and follows it)
- IDEALLY, with controller support (I just prefer to play this way, on my couch)
- open-lake/ocean/etc exploration. Loved driving that boat about and finding some solid spots.
- variety in scenario and environment (lily pads, open water, near a forest or rocky coast, etc)
- catching a fish yields data on it, species, size, how many and biggest you've caught, etc
- the catch mechanic is fun without being needlessly complex (old SNES games just had 2-3 options type of line and a dozen or so lures, and the mechanic was basically timing, watching fish behavior, and avoiding environmental hazards)

Can you help me find one that hits as many of these as possible? Though admittedly it's the very first one (game follows lure) that I feel is most important as that's what so many are missing.

In my opinion, this is a waste of time for comments with requests for this game. I do not see the slightest desire of the developers to update, repair or add anything to this particular game.

Nacon, who owns the publishing license to TheFisherman, does not desire to support this iteration of the game Fishing Planet. The publisher and devs are separate entities bound by contract.

It would be better to try the free to play (FTP) version Fishing Planet. There is solid dev support and community support from veteran players. More importantly, there are bug fixes to rig assembly and retrieval, newer lures and more waterways.

Fishing Planet is available in Xbox, Steam, Playstation, IOS and Andriod plarforms.
