Most valuable fish Per Pound?
So, I am at level 30 and am spending money like water trying to upgrade my equipment (Basic Game with no DLCs). So far the fastest way I have found to make money is to go to Rocky Lake and catch Rainbows on Small Minnows. Falcon Lake is about the same but cost more to go there. Rainbow and Brown Trout seem to be the most valuable fish I have found so far, that take less of a toll on my tackle to catch. I can pretty much yank them out of the water. The Everglades have valuable fish, but they beat you equipment up and take a along time to land.

I am just wondering was the most valuable fish in the game is, by the pound?

Thanks. Just got done with filling up my 198 lb fish net in the Everglades with Bass and ended up with $24,000. Hooked a 29 lb Snook that tore my rod and reel up, but was only worth $900. Hooked a 28 lb Wels over in Italy, and it was worth over $2000, and it was an easy fight. So Snook are a low-value fish that are hard on equipment. Fun Fight, but not worth it when trying to earn money.

Northern Pike is the most valuable per weight.

In White Moose Lake they are twice as valuable a Lake Trout and Atlantic Salmon, and way easier to land. Have caught both fish in real life, I can say with certainty that the Devs have overpowered Lake Trout and Atlantic Salmon. Pike are about right though. There is a hard fighting fish up in the Arctic called the Inconnu. It looks a lot like a Tarpon and is a crazy hard-fighting fish. I have never seen a game that had one though.

You need to redo your setups mate.
If you make your reel a little bit less powerful than your rod and line, you can lock off the drag and it won't break, then if you have a big fish it won't go anywhere.
When that happens don't reel against it or it just plays out line, wait until the fish tires and the meter goes down and you can reel in.

You can never get spooled using this method.

Apparently fishing planet players are not happy because they have recently patched this out of that version, lol :)

It's not the max drag exploit for big fish that players are complaining about. The extreme wear also occurs if you max drag small fish that are well within the reel limits. They also messed with lure fishing animations and hook setting that caused most of the vitriol.

this is accurate, but also it's important to revise your question. aren't you interested in the most value per minute of fishing instead of per-pound?

some fish may not be the most valuable per-pound but are more easily farmable and therefore result in more cash per hour.

walleye falls into this category as you can somewhat successfully target them with narrow spoons (purple generally works best)

run walleyes at emerald until you can setup a bottom rig that can handle 30lb on each component.

once your rig's weakest point can handle around 30lb and you have a keepnet that can handle at least a 40lb single fish, you can very successfully rack up cash fast.

a 150lb keepnet can usually keep 4 sturgeon, which will earn about 11k (+/- 2k) and then pay the 2k to extend your trip (and thereby emptying the keepnet), giving you a net earning of approx 8k .. and this can be done in less than 30 minutes easily.

if you do that 10 times and use the cash for the keepnet that can hold 400lb, you can really start cooking and end up racking up 100k per session consistently.

i know this is a completely necro reply, and useless info for you, but for other new players coming in, this is a roadmap to being able to buy a bass boat and have maxed out gear in a matter of days.
