The DEVs did not forget about TF. They just don't have any control over adding anything to TF. Nacom owns the licensing rights to publish TF. Nacom would need to negotiate a contract to hire the DEVs to further develop and update TF.
The Fisherman is far less grindy than Fishing Planet and the economy is much more generous. All you need to remember to make fishing less grindy is to use the time advance feature frequently to hit peak fishing times and also to advance regeneration times of certain types of fish like uniques and sturgeons.
I have 4 of every rod and reel set up i'll ever need, boats for any occasion etc. Can go fishing for 20 mins and no worries about cash or licences, instead of Fishing Planet where to make it worth your while u gotta allocate 2 hours.
I don't do missions, events or competitions, just go for all the big ones out there of various species and the odd bit of coarse fishing in France (none of the complainers ever say that France isn't available in FP btw)
Fishing Planet bores me to tears now, learning WHEN and HOW to fish is the skill that many don't see playing the game, it IS a game after all.
Once u figure out things, advancing time after catching a Uni whilst not worrying about baitcoins or cash is where u should be at, far harder to get there on FP.
This is my choice of game after trying all the fishing games.
Play Fishing Planet
I have somewhere around 600 or so hours logged in to Fishing Planet and I'm barely level 20. I'm approaching level 30 in this game with only around 127 hours logged playing it.
Much better, much more fun.
- Skip time whenever you want at no cost!
- Unlimited Premium (50% xp and cash)
- Baitcoins for Uniques
- Unlimited non expiring License for in game cash!
- Rodholders on boats
- Trolling
The question should be - why the hell would you play fishing planet?
I would like to have the newer maps but if you get this game on special it is worth every penny. There are still 20 great locations in this game.
It is well worth it in my opinion. Totally enjoy both.
