Missing NPC

Is there a way to retrieve a missing NPC? On the Isle of Awakening, Lillian who is supposed to fill the cooking role is gone. I had built a restaurant but didnt like it and rebuilt it closer to the river. This is after having done Furrowfield but not having done anything else really. I tried going to the Explorers Island and back to Isle of Awakening. I looked everything on the island. I progressed the next chapter a little bit and still nothing. No Lillian. Any help?
Quick edit. I even built another private room for her on the Isle and she doesnt show up there either.

Sounds like she may be stuck in the pit northwest of the lake, between the two rivers. You could check there and if she's down there, build a ladder or steps to get her out. If she's not there, she may have gotten stuck along the north or east cliffs of the island and can't make her way back (I've had chickens find their way out there and lay eggs all over the damned cliff side.) You could also build a room type you haven't built before so she (and everyone else) should come running up to congratulate you. Later in game you'll get a Bell that you can ring to collect everyone and the Resident's Register for which you could assign Lillian to your team temporarily to bring her to your location, but for now the new room type or an accessible method to get her back to civilization are your only options. Building a private room for her was a good attempt, but it only works the first time for a character on a given island.

If nothing works to get Lillian back from wherever she's disappeared or you just can't find her, you could go recruit new Villagers from Soggy Skerry to satisfy your need for a cook. You'll want one of the Villagers dressed in red or the lady with an apron - those wearing blue jackets don't cook. When you finish the Khrumbul-dun adventure and return to IOA, you'll get the Resident's Register very soon and can use it to relocate her or bring her into your party temporarily.
