It shouldn't be a bug.

If you're talking about the first phase, when you must "Keep Your Promise", go interact with his upraised right hand to continue.

If you're talking about the second phase, the absolute final battle, its just a matter of using the right technology with your Buggy Buggy, namely proper use of the Golden Gauntlets to shield yourself from his lightning ball attack, and firing the Kazapple Cannon when he's exposed. If you managed to find (and retain) any of the three Yggdrasil Leaves from Malhalla the fight shouldn't be that hard, but if you've got none then you'll have to be proficient enough to block his attacks to survive long enough to put him down. If I'm not mistaken, the final shot has to be from the Kazapple Cannon, not your normal blasters. I don't think he can be reduced to zero using blasters only.

Well to tell the truth, I reached zero with blasters but when I continued shooting with blazters, I couldn't kill him and I spent 10 continuous minutes shooting at him and I never tried to hit me in such a way that I could use the cannon.

am annoyed, for visiting this forum, as this thread spoiled the ending.

Well you're not wrong that the subject should have said spoilers within or the question (and answers) be put in spoiler tags.

But it shouldn't be a huge surprise. SquareEnix wrote the game with the assumption that a great many players had played Dragon Quest II already. For example you visit Moonbrooke in both games (and the layout is almost identical), mentions are made of other DQ2 locations (Midenhall, Zahan) or story elements (curses that can turn someone into a dog), and of course the entire backstory of the three Scions which forms the plot of DQ2. In fact, the Japanese version is even subtitled in such a way to openly give away this "secret": "Dragon Quest Builders 2: God of Destruction Shido and the Vacant Island" (Shido being the Japanese name for Malroth)

So the final boss is not really meant to spoil anyone. The surprise (and purpose of the story) is finding out who this other guy is, and if he's supposed to be the God of destruction why is he not such a bad person.

Oh, and let me also point out that the THIRD dialogue screen in the game points out that Hargon sacrificed his life such that the master of destruction could be reborn. Less than 30 seconds into the game its telling you Malroth is supposed to be a bad guy. Even if you never played DQ2, DQB2 is establishing it right up front. Its brought up several more times throughout the game (often by the voice slowly speaking to Malroth) but the fact its mentioned in the very first minute pretty much eliminates it as a spoiler.

Actual game text:
Venture forth, my children, and destroy all before you! Thus decreed the great and glorious High Priest Hargon. And lo, His minions of mayhem did march out rank upon rank to ravage the land and strike fear into human hearts. Our Unholy Father then gave up His mortal form so that Malroth, the Master of Destruction, might be reborn and the world be consumed by catastrophe. Alas, mighty Malroth was defeated at the hands of the despicable spawn of Erdrick before Hargon's glorious vision could be brought to life.

(The only problem here is that the Wrecktor should have never used the name Malroth. His name is meant to be a big secret to everyone outside the very highest of the Children's order. DQ2 also keeps the true name a secret. To most he is simply called the Lord/Master/God of Destruction. However, the Wrecktor has to use the given name here to properly establish the story for most players, even though it breaks with convention.)

Okay. The spoiler alert.

If you got Malroth down to "zero" and he's kind of hanging limp in the air, you have to use your co-op de gras move to finish him.
