General Improvement Ideas
I really enjoyed the game, and I can see some improvements that could be added to make the game even better. A lot of my time after completing the main story-line involves building and I have a few ideas which can help improve the game for everyone.
General Improvements:
  • Discord Integration(For PC)- This is so I can invite people to my island so I can get help building. Also, sometimes a lot of help can happen from having an easy way to interact with random players of the game.
  • Dedicated Server Option(For PC)- This is mostly so larger projects can be done without wasting excess electricity having the graphics going at the same time.
  • Spectator Mode- This is mostly for streamers, and I can see the use for watching how things are built/completed.
  • Story Mode Cooperative play- This is about getting help with completing certain segments of the game where a person may have trouble. Examples would be boss fights or even things involving npc’s.
  • Add quest system to menu describing NPC Suggested tasks that have yet to be completed. Examples of tasks would be random room blueprints which are not in the builderpedia as completed, but the npc has recommended being build. I personally do not like having to talk to an NPC a half dozen times to find a room recipe I forgot to build.

Tool Improvements- These are mostly quality of life improvements, and can greatly reduce some of the difficulty of building larger projects.

  • Echo Flute - This item shows a lot of promise, and in the end game, it would be nice if this could show the path to super strong/rare monsters, and harder to find resources ( like Mythril, Orihalcum, etc).
  • Transform-O-Trowel Fill Mode - This only works when placing a single row of blocks, I honestly would like to be able to place multiple rows to fill in an area quickly using this. After all, Holding the action button for the tool then moving back should repeat the action.
  • Transform-O-Trowel Size - The Fill and swap modes could be improved by allowing some way to change area of effect like what is seen on the Hammer.

  • Builderpedia Item list ( Sorting) - It would be nice to be able to sort the large list of items in the builderpedia in a fashion similar to how the various crafting stations. After all, the list is very long and can be difficult to navigate later in the game.
  • Builderpedia item list ( pages) - The page navigation can be improved by doing something about the item description box. The item description box takes up a lot of space ( covers anywhere from 18 to 27 different items) and automatically shows when switching item list pages.

Building/Item Management ideas:
  • Allow easy assigning of rooms to be not counted. This could be a Camouflaged block similar to how Magnetic blocks work. This can help larger projects since there is times when a person might reach the room limit and make room modifications that effect the style of a build.
  • Increase room limit overall on certain maps - This is mostly about increasing the per-map room limit from 100 to an larger number on specified islands like the buildertopia islands.
  • add magnetized Switches that can stick to magnetic blocks. This is useful for building things like elevators.
  • please Allow Push/Pull blocks to be Camouflaged like the magnetic blocks.
  • Add more rooms from the first Dragon Quest Builders. I do not expect all the rooms to serve a purpose, but it would be nice to get some of these rooms back like the room where the residents will craft healing items from time to time.
  • Colossal Coffer Upgrade- This is mostly to help with storage issues a lot of people have while building. I personally have ran into the bag storage limit, and the storage container limit repeatedly. It would be nice to have a per-map storage item which has almost as much space as the per-player bags.
  • Alternative skins for the Colossal Coffer- This is mostly for style to have items match the other item themes currently available.
  • Trash Can ( and skins) - This to simply a large container which destroys items placed in it. This is to help prevent per-map item clutter.
  • Recycling Station- This is similar to the trash can, but converts items to other usable materials. For example this could convert the inventory items which have infinite versions to a different resource which is not infinite. Examples resources which can be used in this are things like Coal, Iron, Wood, Earth, etc.
  • Building stations (Text search) - This is mostly a way of sorting through the building list where you know the item name, but do not know exactly where in the lists of items it is at.
  • Building Stations Allow sorting by function- This is to help find items that serve a purpose. Examples are things like Sleeping items ( beds), Cooking Stations, Storage stations, etc.

Good ideas. However, we will only see some pc-related bug/perf-fixes. Nothing else. The game is finished and only a pc-port to gain some more revenue.

These are all good ideas for DQB3 whenever that happens, hopefully they keep them in mind.

Multibuilder Mode already covers what you suggest for spectator mode. A spectator would just be an invited builder who doesn't participate.

Having a room look like a room but not count against your 100 "Room" allotment is already easy enough. Just use a Magnetic block on one of the wall blocks and camouflage it, or leave a corner open such that the room spills out into the surrounding space and exceeds the 143 block limit. Though these are not always possible (particularly building underground) and being able to force a room to not count would be useful in those situations.

The rest are all fine ideas though. (I personally would wish for a 3x3 Transform-O-Trowel swap area option the most.)

The least important change is still one I'd like to see - don't have any more auto text that sits there on screen for what seems like ages, text we can't click forward through ourselves. Ugh. The amount of time spent waiting at that auto text...

that's all the problem with game ported on pc ... i never see a game with real improvment or things added because you jsut can't get the same complexity between consol and computer ... that's a shame because DBQ2 is, in my opinion, a very good game with lack of elements and quality of life ( all can be explained by the fact that the game is for consol first and only ported and not adapted for ... ), i love the game and i just precise all of that is only my opinion

If they altered the scale a bit where one block is about half the player's height, or little less, 1st Person view would be a more viable play style for building aesthetics.
