Game wont launch

Installed the game, want to start it -> steam buttom goes back to play. Seems like im missing: MF.dll, MFReadWrite.dll and MFPlat.DLL. I really want to play and my system is way better than the recommended. Please someone help me out

Verify the files in your Steam library, if it's saying it's missing, it must be corrupted or something.

Windows N (the EU versions that don't include Media Player) won't include these files by default, so game can't provide audio playback. You likely need to install the Media Feature Pack.

See this webpage for links to each Windows versions' Media Feature Pack download. The installer should do everything for you, but as I don't have an N version of Windows I can't be certain or replicate the issue.

If this does indeed fix the problem, please say so. I think development team should know if they've missed a prerequisite package in the Steam installer.

Do i just need to reinstall the game then and it should fix it or where do i get the missing files :O ?

I'm not sure a reinstall would work. Before I found that link, I watched a short YouTube video where someone couldn't get Grand Theft Auto V to run for same reason. Reinstalls didn't fix their problem. Install package didn't come with the DLLs and I think that's whats happened here with DQB2. Most Windows machines come with them (mine are in Windows\System32\), but some Windows machines don't and need the Media Feature Pack to fill the gap where European regulations prevented inclusion.

I gave that link because it provided links to the Microsoft download site for each version (Win7/8/10) Just pick the one that you need; it should give you option to download an EXE or MSI file to run on your machine. Afterwards the game might start without problem.

yea i installed the media player or whatever it is. i mean the files for dqb2 they should come with a reinstall that was my question :D

Agree. At very least it should warn you on install that you're missing a prerequisite if it doesn't install it for you. SquareEnix and KoeiTecmo both use European-based localization teams, so they should have known better.

I have over 200 hours into the game...today it wont load. Tried to load it through the steam bip picture but that didnt work either... Never had any issues befor today with it. Anybody know WHY...???
