Still forced to be online to play against AI normally ?
Apperently this has been an issue for a long time already.
Is this fixed now ?
Specifically the skirmishing mode. Being able to play campaign offline is not enough since that gets boring rather fast.

What would be the reason for online only ?
Would just result in less sales / the game dying faster.

We're considering how to make this work with our infrustructure for a future update which is geared towards online play. It's not a simple or trival thing, but we are on it, it'll just take time to do it right. Also the majority of players are happy to play while onlines so please forgive us for not having it higher up the priority list.

I get the impressions the devs really thought this was going to blow up and be the next starcraft and built everything around an always online environment.

This kind of alienates the people who would be playing on Steam Deck. I hear it runs great, but if I can't play Skirmish against AI offline it's a no-go for me.

"a future update" gives hope for the future I suppose ..^^

There is plenty of reasons why always online sucks so I hope that will be fixed one day. Until then I will check on the updates I guess.

Fyi a majority of players want a skirmish mode that can be played solo vs an AI. Knock of the forced multiplayer\ bs k thnx bye.

It'll come in future. Steam Deck is still fairly niche and wasn't a thing when the main foundations of the game where laid. We'll update the game with the times in future patches
