How to make the game better in two steps.
In short, how to make the game better. You remove the pointless restriction on the population of units and speed up their construction. Instead of an SC2 clone, you get Generals 2 and everyone is happy.

I would have to second the notion of removing the pop cap or making it really high to where it is unlikely you will reach it unless you try to. This was one of the main flaws with Iron Harvest, and I don't want to see this fail like that did.

Yeah I hate army limits, always loved unlimited armies.

Please get rid of loadouts way to restrictive just have varied armies for each faction.

I understand, but the game, as it were, says to the buyer with its whole appearance, "Look, I look like a continuation of those same CnC Generals that you loved", and here the player is faced with an offensive restriction on units. The strategy becomes more fun and interesting if it takes place on large maps with large armies, see how it looks like in Red Alert 3.
Optimization is certainly something that should occupy a large place in the developer's head, but we should also not forget about fun.

I mostly disagree.
Unit cap should be, but just not too small. Each unit should have value instead of just 100500 disposable numbers.
Second. No no no, just no to increased unit construction, its actually should be a little slow, so again every unit you have need to be counted as important.
Also its a Strategy not army bubble spam simulator. Look at 8-bit armies/hordes/aliens, after few minutes game just turns into mindless spam of strongest units, and one who spams more and faster wins, THATS STUPID AND BORING.
And another point, didn,t saw alot of gameplay but from what i saw, maps are annoyingly small, so it will be unstopable mindless massacre if units producing gonna be fast.

So basically this thread is generals fans want a new generals and sc fans disagree. so generals fans will see this game as generals 2 ruined by sc implementations and sc fans will see this game as a new sc ruined by generals implementations.

I dont think any "group" is served by a clone of whatever game is already out there.

There is nothing wrong with taking the basis of a good game, and they will make something of their own, better, on its basis.

While I clearly see both games in it, I do not feel them either.
E.g. the defenses are too simple/weak to be from Generals, but to energetic to be from StarCraft.

While I get that people will see StarCraft or Generals in it, it is quite clear IMHO that is another game.
E.g. where generals had masses of units, we have a rather low unit cap, where StarCraft had quite a huge army/complementing army, we have here more of a "blob" of Tier 3 units (with 1-3 supports) + some aircrafts.

I do not think so.

First, I think the population restriction is there to limit the size of the army, which I feel is needed, too.
Second, the units have not enough life/traits to be a "Generals 2" IMO.

So far the game feels way too fast in part, but with the unit cap in place it is manageable. The units are build rather slow, but can die really fast. Still I do think that the game speed is alright.
Without the unit cap, which is reached rather easily, it would be way too common/easy to be completely rush-crushed I think. On the other hand it is not really possible to have more than one main army this way - which makes it easier to defend.

If the speed and population is to be cranked up, I would want to see more things from Generals, like specific weapons one-shot specific units, so an (single-edged) offence can be countered.
If we would only get more population I would say, that the game needs more units. I know that we have (or will get) loadouts -and this is great- but I mean more "slots" for units, so we can have a more defined army.
Right now the late game is more of a T3 rush, with more units (in the Tier 2 or/and Tier 3 range), I think the battles could get more "meaning", like in StarCraft or Generals (where e.g. the chinese ultra-heavy tanks were often seen but still were a oh-noes-moment).

I hope this is just a technical test and the factions will have more units.

The game looks good but it has a huge issue, it has a lot of colorful circlets and it seems game want to be played in android instead of PC, for some reason those big circlets remind me of the DOW3 failure, too much colorful IMO and are very distracting, I can barely what's going on, that art style needs to be tune down a little bit, C&C red alert 3 was criticized a lot for this reason.

Another thing I noticed are that units have a very short range, even bigger tanks and this is due to the zoom in camera, devs should work on that, not sure if game wants to be serious or a red alert parody.

I would prefer if aircraft are sent from base instead of floating in air, this can only apply for helicopters, c&c did this pretty well.

One thing I love is the UI, it looks like a real RTS UI, contrary to the modern age of empires IV, that game UI is garbage.

I have played a lot of RTS most of them from relic, sc2 and C&C, it seems this game wants to attract wider audiences, also the cam looks to zoom in. finally the game name" crossfire legion" sounds like a moba xD,

Would it be an option to maybe salvage units like in Homeworld? Especially the workers. I always hated it in SC2 that you got to send them into death so you can regain some cap.

What I like is that the resource management is a mix of Red alert 3 and SC 2, which makes things really comfortable. I just hope this game won't be all about ATM like SC2
