But also keep in mind, the Axis Operations DLCs are a little more arcade-y and power fantasy based than the vanilla campaign. It's ironic because many of those battles are more detailed and well-researched, but there's a lot of metagame mixing & matching superhero soldiers with augmented abilities, fighting against massive numbers, etc. It's very much casual strategy.

Main game has 61 scenarios but you only play 21 to 23 in a single play through. ( there are choices that lead to different scenarios.)
There has been no official announcement on West Front, and Pacific was shelved as they could not make it fun to play.
