How would historically accurate composition of german division/corp,army look like in this game?
Technical detail, this is just fun question.

What I mean in this question exactly is, that how many of each unit would be in german division/corp/army, if we made this army in the game more historically accurate in each year.

Like for example, you can get a lot of jagdtigers with infinite replacement option, but in real history only 88 were built, so in historical accurate game version of army there would be maybe just one Jagdtiger unit or just available as 20 prototypes in 1944 and 40 prototypes in 1945..., maybe.

So what do you think, how would historically accurate composition of german division/corp,army look like in this game?

Technical detail, we should probably go with tank division/corp/army for this question.

If you want to use such an accurate scale for like creating a scenario then the best way I've found has been to use Regiments as being represented as 1 unit. This would make most divisions about 4 units in size and you can kinda pick and choose extra battalions if you want more units

So for example a 1944 Panzer Division has 1 Panzer Regiment, x2 Panzergrenadier Regiments, and a Panzer Artillery Regiment plus supporting units.
So we could do something like
x1 Panther
x1 Grenadier in Halftracks
x1 Grenadier in Trucks
x1 Wespe or Hummel

From there if you want to beef up the unit an armored recon car, some tank destroyer, AA, or Pioneers are options to add on without over blowing the size of each unit (you probably would pick 1-2 at most if trying to represent many divisions).

Getting any smaller then this means that once you scale it up to representing Corps or Armies you essentially look at thousands of core slots with hundreds of units per army and it just gets to big. At 4-5 units it's feasible to represent at least 1-2 armies in the field at a time.

I tend to err more on the idea that each unit represents roughly a battalion, but the scale is honestly all over the place and varies between campaigns and sometimes even individual battles. For example, in AO1939, the French armies attacking Germany have about 30 or so units each in them; whereas in War Stories Poland, there are three whole units marked as "18th Pomeranian Uhlan [Regiment]."

different divisions would look a bit different but, in general, early on(ish) where each unit approximates a battalion

two tank regiments represented by
3 panzer III
1 panzer iv
2 infantry regiments represented by
4 shutzen
2 grenadier
2 AT
support
1 pioneer
1 recon
1 motorcyle
1 tank destroyer
1 AA
3 105mm
1 150mm

I understand. Just technical detail, I didn't mean it to be super dooper acurate. Just some amount of more accurary. For example in battle of france - while most players simply have all tanks - panzer III F or Panzer IV D, in real history those tanks + Panzer 38(t) were just third of all tanks German had (rest panzer I and II).
