DLC Bulge Why
Can someone please explain to me why you would start an American campaign in the middle of the war. You have no core to import. If they do another DLC starting from Operation Torch you will have to redo the Bulge. I know i'm stupid, but this makes no sense to me. Having said that i will buy it anyway

I was surprised too. I actually like the idea of standalone campaigns examining major battles in detail, but it seems like a very odd choice to use one of the 2 centerpiece battles from what I assumed would be an upcoming Allied Operations campaign series. Like you say - it's redundant.

It makes me wonder if the next AO series will be Eastern Front instead.

Yep the only thing i think of is that they will not do an American campaign. Not to say they won't do a British one. I don't mind standalone battles but the Bulge has been done in many games. I would have preferred the Hurtgan Forrest, better still go West

Remember that David Sharrock explained in the interview that the scale of the scenarios in this DLC is much smaller than in the Axis Operations DLCs, covering more focused operations in a much shorter time period. Counters represent much smaller units. So this is something different from an Allied Operations series. It appears that these Frontline DLCs, assuming more than one, will cover major battles of WWII. And there won't necessarily be continuity between Frontline DLCs. From the Slitherine site: "Panzer Corps 2: Frontlines - Bulge cleverly divides the entire operation into smaller, focused battles, each spanning just a few days and a limited area. This approach allows you to relive crucial moments with unprecedented detail." That is the way I understand it, at least. It reminds me of Victor Reijkersz, VR Designs, moving from large operations like Decisive Campaigns Barbarossa to Decisive Campaigns Ardennes, bringing you much closer to the battlefield. I find this concept for the Panzer Corps 2 engine to be quite interesting, but I will have to wait to see it to fully understand.

Small unit sizes suits me fine as long as they don't go up and down as in AO. Same as Hex sizes. Make them constant. But what about importing your core. You can't import your core from the Bulge to lets say Operation Torch or Anzio

Hi,

Yes, as we said on the Stream, these Frontlines releases aren't about being part of some grand over-arching grand campaign. They're explicitly focused on single operations and focus solely on those engagements.

We have other releases in the works that fit the more grand campaign style with core force carry over which we'll talk about in due course.

Thanks

This honestly sounds disappointing. Who wants to play as the Americans during Bulge, that is so much less interesting from a gameplay perspective than the Germans. Moreover, as a more significant point, this content misses the point of what people love about the Panzer Corps series, long, branching campaigns where you build up a core over time. How often do people play the standalone scenarios, which is what this is for all intents and purposes.

Actually there are many games where you play as the allied side in the Bulge. (most also have the German side as well) PzC had American side in bulge as part of the campaign. OOB has it as well in the Allies Victorious DLC. Both are fun scenarios to play.

This is vape ware to me at this point. A year or 2 ago you announced the Pacific and yet nothing..... Will Bulge be before or after Pacific?

Mabe the devs can give us the option to select the Japans in random maps, So we can play a sort of "Mongolian boarder conflicts" but set in 1939?

Get rid of 99% of the navel stuff. Island hopping battles with a couple of navel assets off shore for bombardment. Throw in some kamikazes to harass said ships would be fine . After all this game is more about land battles right.

Sounds like they are looking to create small bits of content they can monetize quickly. Honestly it sounds too small to be worthy of DLC and does not give me hope for the future
