Enemy moves so fast

i have been playing for weeks without any problem. today suddenly the enemies turn goes at lightning speed. the turn is over in 3 seconds and i have no idea what is going on. it goes so fast i can`t even see what units are attacking. i did not touch any setting, i don`t even see a slider for this. the game is unplayable at the moment.... has anyone experienced this before?

A couple things to look at. In the upper right corner of the game interface there is a small button (>>) which will fast forward the enemies turn (same as if you hold space bar during the enemy turn). If you have that selected it will run animations at full speed. The other option to check is the turn animations speed in the options menu. Using this you can set how fast or slow the enemies turn animations are performed. Try those and see if it resolves your issue.

For what it is worth, I don't know if it makes it unplayable. I haven't watched enemy movements in years and I play it just fine. Might be more of a personal preference.

Thank you so much, it was the fast forward button.! i never even noticed there was one, i must have clicked on it by mistake
