I 100% concur!!!!!
Another option is an expansion of scope with separate Armies pursuing campaigns in different regions but results in one region affecting conditions in another--possibly as far as having the results of entirely naval/air scenario in May affecting supply or the number of elite replacements available to you (or your opponent) in August elsewhere.
Development of a grand strategy PzC III game which allows the player to define their overall approach to the war which can vary greatly from history. The resolution mechanism would still be PzC scenarios with conditions dictated by prior scenarios and the "global strategy" chosen by the player. Of course it would be great if you could take any nation in the conflict and have appropriate scenarios generated given your choices. Postpone Barbarossa until after the British are dealt with? Pz C III can deal with it. Push on and force the B.E.F. to surrender at Dunkirk? Pz C III has it covered.
Allow a General to spend excess prestige to nudge the direction of the arms industry toward customized production...the player can make design choices for off menu prototypes and test them out (with an appropriate reliability risk)...And once the unit has 1000 experience, for an even greater prestige price, you can get your units listed as standard equipment.
Honestly, I enjoyed the first game but was quite frankly disappointed when this game was ALSO about the same nation, in the same conflict
Northgard is doing pretty well when it comes
to gamemodes for singleplayer.
Also maybe for players who love the art design of the game - more unit scale options (smaller but more units on one field)
The Limited Stock feature is pretty good - but maybe more sliders for infantry, tanks, planes.
Also the setting to get stock every turn (+1 Unit per turn, +2 units per Turn) and the possibility to get more of a type by adding some (Tank General +4 Tank Stock every turn)
So far i love the game and also the editor.
There's still a lot of road for Panzer Corps 2.
But I could see the game engine recycled and repurposed for new games with interesting settings.
Cold War was already mentioned, that could be neat.
American Civil War might be a nice campaign in a historical setting, with alternate non-historical paths.
Napoleonic Wars maybe.
Just don't make the mistake and go too far in history. Total War Pharaoh made the mistake to go to the Copper and Bronze Age, which were not as popular to the players as the Roman Empire period.
