Panzer Corps 2 vs Unity of Command 2
What makes Panzer Corps 2 any better than Unity of Command 2?
Unity of Command 2 is $30 and seems to have a very reasonable learning curve. It appears to have allot of the mechanics that would be appreciated in a war game with out having to be bogged down by watching numerous hours of YouTube videos to learn how to play, like say EU4 or Hearts of Iron 4 by Paradox. Of course those are grand strategy games, thus that is expected. Both PC2 and UoC2 are more like beer and pretzel games with a smidgen of complexity. Heck the games give you predictions of the individual battles before you initiate them. I will be buying Unity of Command 2 tonight. I will be waiting on a much more reasonably priced package for Panzer Corps 2.
But back to my question, What makes Panzer Corps 2 any better than Unity of Command 2?

UOC 2 is far superior in terms of logistics challenges, subtlety, and depth - IMO. PzC2 is really just a marginal face lift over PzC1 - sure PzC2 has some fancy bells like Random Scenario Generator - but frankly, who cares.

Night Phoenix - arguably one of the most accomplished war gamers on YouTube and a reviewer of both UOC2 and PzC2 rates PzC2 a 5 out of 10. I agree from the hours of gameplay of PzC2 I have watched

- I think Order of Battle at $14.99 with loads of free DLCs from Erik over at Slitherine is the best value going

I own PzC1, OoB and UOC2

Says the troll who took the time to give this to his fellow games.

I care about the random scenario generator. I care more about campaigns, but the random generator is still a huge plus. One person claiming it's not a thing, well, that's on him.

Also, PzC2 is not a slight facelift. It's a full makeover, but yeah, it's at its heart the same kind of game so many players have enjoyed throughout the ages.

If I want logistics and whatnot, I go for another game, not PzC. Overly complex logistics are not what this series is about.

Loads for Free DLC??

Since when, where?

No free DLC on Steam.
I went to Slitherine site, no Free DLC listed there?

Personally, I'm just glad we have choices.

There was a time.. the dark times... when we only had very few titles to choose from.

We had to sacrifice bottle caps to the Dev Lords to get more games.

So, hey, if you like Panzer Corps, get it, if you don't, don't, that's the beauty of choice and competition.

I can't wait for this title.
Devs, if you're reading this, I'd be happy to review this.. contact me.

I still don't see a need to get so defensive if someone has a different opinion. The rabid fan like yourself comes across as a paid opinion. If you aren't getting paid for this then move on and enjoy the game when it comes out so you don't embarrass yourself.

Mmm... I read this and... what are you trying to say? Nothing. It's just pure trolling. Go away.

I apologize.

FWIW, Panzer Corps 2 includes a scenario editor (though I am not sure about a campaign editor?; for linking scenarios) so, given time and fan support, it too will also have a large library of free DLC available.

Unity of Command 2, best wargame.

Anyhow the current price tag seems very high for a remake that doesnt involve much graphics. Im wondering what the game will cost without the 2 first DLCs... I want to love it but it does look very cookie cutter and not much depth. If the game had nice animated combat scenes etc I could see the high price tag being worth it.

I believe it's $39.99 for the base game without the two DLCs.

Would say UoC is much more realistic and more for the hardcore strategist, while games like Order of Battle (which has some really nice mechanics besides the classic Panzer General clones) and Panzercorps are for a wider audience.
Did not see any real changes in gameplay or mechanics till now on Panzer Corpse 2.
But already Panzer Corps gameplaywise was a 1:1 remake of Panzer General with better graphics ... and it was much fun anyways.

UoC different, hardly hardcore.
These are all beer and pretzels games.

It can be argued that one can enjoy a cold beer whilst snacking on pretzels playing Gary Grigsby's War in the East, too ya know. :)

Sure, good point.

They are all games, but I still find some amusement in seeing UoC(2) described as much more realistic. Please note that I like all these games.
