comparison to talon softs western front
How does this game compare to the western front (or even their eastern front, never played it but should have been pretty close), been looking for a hex turn based game like this, but haven't kept up to date on this niche market of games.

Western Front is a game from around the year 2000. Its also hex and turn-based like Panzer Corps 2, but there the comparison ends. The games in West front are more on the tactical level and try to reenact historical battles with great love to detail. The graphics were decent for a wargame in this time, but the user interface is hopelessly outdated and only for the passionate. Larger battles feature an intense number of units, you and the AI literally have hundreds of them. Not too difficult still, but its hard to get into. In fact the game was made by a team called John Tiller software. They made a ton of similar games since then, some also placed in other conflicts like Napoleonic wars and Civil war.
Panzer Corps 2 is aimed at a bit more mainstream audience and simply more accessible. I played Western Front a lot back then and it can also be fun, but I had more time at hand then.

John Tiller Software released a wargame called Panzer Battles wich are focused mainly on Tank and Ranged warfare.

They had a company called Talonsoft too, with some amazing Panzer General type games.

ok so this would be a good purchase as it is a little simpler than western front overall? and thanks for the info on the comparison.
