I also used Geforce Experience (normally I would not, as it is intrusive, but this game was crashing like crazy for me as well) these two updates cleared all crashes with zero since.
To be clear, my issue was with Unreal engine and my video card, YMMV.
On my GTX 1660 ti the card can get really hot for this game and has really high core usage if I run it on maximum settings,1080p with v-sync on. It gets noisy too, but lowering most the settings to high and forcing frame rate down to 50fps helps a lot to make temperature more managable. And I think it's because I have taken these measures that I don't get any crashes.
Funnily enough i've seen this happen with (but not exclusively on) a few other UE4 engine games, like the shooter, Eternal Crusade and a strategy game called Death Watch. Funnily enough both are 40k games but that's just a coincidence. As other 40k games like Battlefleet gothic that use UE4 engine run fine with temperature, most of them do. Ark Survival, Conan Exiles I could go on, don't give me temperature issues.
But the main symptom when i do get the issue tends to be a very high gpu core usage, like at about 90 to 99 percent, whilst usually the core gpu usage is around 60's to high 70's percentages.
I hope it can be addressed so I can go on to play panzer corp 2 at maximum and at 60fps because it looks really nice, when i set it to that, but the temp goes a bit a haywire.
I have not yet been able to play PC.II.
At first, the game wouldn't save.
Then, it would save the unit placements - but not the terrain.
Now, I can't even start the game because the Unreal Engine kept CTD.
My system is pretty good, and I have no trouble running any other program.
My drivers are up-to-date.
And I have tried the Legacy version. The game still crashes on start-up.
Very disappointing.
