As for real heroes, not in the vanilla campaign, but in the future content I'm 99% sure they will appear. This is always up to the designer of a specific campaign. Vanilla campaign has been designed to provide lots of variety, and this is true for heroes as well: in every playthrough you will have different heroes with different and not necessarily very historic abilities. But, just as it happened in Panzer Corps, vanilla campaign will likely remain one of its kind, while the others will take a very different approach to design.
I did modify the GC myselves with the editor and removed 9 of those heroes from the core and it was a better gaming experience imo. Less is more. ;)
Regards
Agreed. Too many, too good.
You can rename your units, give them different camouflage skins.
Just take your veteran units with medals, give them some heroes, and call them SS if that works for you.
That's how the game models elite units.
You're welcome
I also use camouflage skins to make it easier to tell my units apart. My pink Bf109 is the recon plane version, for example
There is a pink skin, truly. I started using it when I mistook my real fighters for my recon plane
