Cheat menu not working?

I read that you can access a cheat menu by pressing alt and F7. I've put about 60+ hours in and am kind of tired of farming rez and goons and just want to fight my way through the storyline now, but nothing happens when I hit alt+F7. Is there something I'm missing?

Hmm, that is a strange one. Are you running on a Mac or a PC?

Read a post somewhere that says something like you have to put a line into a mod's code to get that menu to work. It's disabled by default.

If it's a MacBook you may have it set up so you have to press fn + F7.

Just to update this, I dunno what the deal was but the next day after restarting my computer it worked (PC)

If it isn't working &
You have a laptop:

1. Start the game, load the savegame
2. Press [winKey + D] or [alt + tab] whichever kicks you to the desktop.
3. Use your [fn + f7] function in desktop.
4. Maximize your game
5. [alt + f7] works fine now!

This doesn't work and for the life of me, I really would like to know how to cheat as I have mastered both the first and the second game.

If you need help, work on extreme range tactics and use Missiles until you have enough Rez and other recipies saved to use better weaponry and ship armors.

But for the first half of the game, range kills THEM, not so much you and if you work with the Missles and the Carrier, you could spam kill even the Bounty Hunter home from AFAR...almost never up close and a completely dumbtruckery from up close but if you are far enough away, just spam the field with a massive set of MISSLES as they track better and have a much better range than the SRMs ever will.

You will loose a lot of missiles in the transit and this will take a while but you will eventually drop their shields and eventually them, while you are still alive.
