I beat it by launching the first bomb into the small ships right from the start (they have little to no chance of surviving the blast), then ditching the armour plates and dodging the incoming bomb from the enemy Helix. After that it's the matter of getting close enough to land several more precise bombs. Having no armour plates will help you dodge, and you should always attack the enemy Helix from sides, not up front. Choose one particular side and keep firing until its armour stops functioning.
You got a slightly advantage, top speed and shield i guess ? Oh, and let's say 1 milimeter for beam range. But when you face the ennemy saucer you take MUCH MUCH MUCH more damage and he regens faster than you do. WTF is wrong with this arena ? What am i missing ? Both saucer got a fixed beam and a turret beam and 2 canons. Except big luck and face to face at start, you hit all, ennemy misses all, i don't see how to destroy that supposely less advanced technology damn ship...
