PS4 & 360 Controller only work in menu

Lost my game save, showed Cloud Error, have to start new.
And now PS4 Controller only work in menu.
I know I could use DS4Windows but don't want to.

Hi Neon61,

As for the controller: please, disable Steam Input and the controller should work. Latest Steam input update made a bad job for PS4 and XB1 controllers.

As for the save files - please, refer to the news here:

There is a possibility to restore your save files.

I am on Windows 11 Pro 64bit

I copied files, have 3 Save Points now back but can't open them. On click on savepicturebutton it bumps 3 times but don't open. I disabled cloud saves.

PS4 Controller still don't work. I disabled in Steam PS4 controller support, reconnect Controller, Biped shows now PS4 button signs instead of 360, still work through all the menu, but no function in game, only can use mouse.

Btw. I didn't recognize any missbehaviour on ps4 controller here when enabled support in Steam, played Wreckfest and Destiny 2 these Days without any issues

Hi Neon61,

Please, disable Steam Input in general as it could cause issues at the moment. Not just PS4 controller but Steam Input in general. Your controller should work after that.

Also, please, try to switch to the old version according to the instruction here:

Hi,
I have testet all possible Controller Settings with the "betterping" Version of Biped.
With betterping I don't reach the 3 save games. In the menu where you want to go to save games the entry only bumps like in the normal Version when clicking on the Savegame Icon.

At all I only play Solo, never did online Koop.

Maybe the problem is in the Controller Settings of Biped (right click on Biped in Steam)
There is Steam Controller and Remote Play always enabled and more restrictive "always needed"
These 2 Settings ignore when you disable Controller Support there. They still on.

Anyway to be honest, I really don't care wether Biped runs or runs not. I just click around my game library from time to time and will be not amused if I run into that big trouble, because it's eating time without any need.

I also don't believe that the Steam Input System have big issues because all other games work flawlessly also Non Steam Games like for example Diablo 3 with configured controller profile.

I don't know how to comunicate with the Steam input Api as a game, nor do I know how to check wether the communication between game and Input Api work and wether it works correctly.

Anyway, conclusion here, Biped (both Versions) don't run with controller here nor can I reactivate saved games (not really a big issue because only solo game saves and no long play time).

I now switch back to normal Version of Biped and do one more last test with Ds4Windows

I just got back my 360 controller from storage and do all the settings on/off controller support in any constellation.
Also the 360 Controller only work in Menu's not in game

Regarding save files: please, copy-paste your save files from:

%USERPROFILE%/AppData/LocalLow/PostmetaGamesLimited/Biped

to

%USERPROFILE%/AppData/LocalLow/NExTStudios/Biped

Then, please, choose a different BETA branch:

1. Go to your library and find Biped;
2. Right-click on the game and select "Properties";
3. In the pop-up select "Betas"
4. Choose "BetterPing" in the menu. To switch between versions, just open this menu again and select "none".

As for the controller - we will take a deeper look there. Did you send your DxDiag to [e-mail] already? If not, could you please send it?

Thx for your Support but I don't invest more time into a small game I only have played for some hours. Maybe it will work somewhere in the future or not.

I don't give away my DxDiag.

Again all other games, wether through Steam, Uplay, BattleNet, Epic, Bethesda or what ever work with every controller I have (TS-PC Racer, PS4 Wireless, Xbox 360 Wireless, Logitech F310, Logitech G29, Microsoft Sidewinder Wheel). No they are not connected all at same time.
Also I do Simracing and have no issues in online Racing or any problems with the controlls.

Anyway I am done for now.
