Problems I see after 10 hours of playing
Leveling is a little too slow.

Enemies a little higher than your level scale too much.

Upgrading spells is pointless because the added mana cost isn't worth it. It is actually more effective to spam lower level spells. If you miss, it does not feel so bad.

NPCs have too much health. They know where you are all the time, so you can't flank them. They seem to have perfect aim.

Bandages are basically useless with how health takes hits. It is more effective to spam potions in battle than it is to use them.. Completely broken..

Mana is way too low, which goes back to me not wanting to upgrade my spells. I am lucky to get off three spells before I have to spam mana potions.

Ice shield should give you a buff against fire damage, but it doesn't. Seems like you get hit harder. Yeah, fire melts ice, but until it does that and dries you - you shouldn't be taking any damage..

Also, the game sends me on a level five quest where there is level 10 evil eyes that are op. Pretty much have to hide behind a tree and take your time on each one. A little too grindy. Love the game, but maybe I will let this develop more..

I agree with some points but...

I remember a developer said somewhere here in discussions that leveling up some specific spells just seem to increase mana cost only, but they said it also increases the chance of the spell not being resisted by enemies.

I got a hat in the game (can't remember where I found it), it give a spell which makes you able to sneak to enemies (it makes you invisible for 10 seconds, has 30 secs cooldown)

If you're just in early game, I will agree with you, so you'll need to rely on your reflex, but some enemies animation is off also, some of animations are not synced with the actual shot.

But once you reach the mid game where you collect some decent equipments, you'll feel the utilities complementing with your equipment stats, e.g. Ring of sprouts (increases hp regen) + bandages basically makes you tanky, not to mention spell buffs like Blessing of Health (increases health) also complements the aforementioned items.

Give the devs more time, I'm pretty sure they'll make it to our standards, just like what they made to Salt (another game developed by Lavaboots).

Thanks for the feedback. Maybe I will stick it out then. Just 10 hours in and I have not found very much. I guess I will press on.

Considering we are in the very early stage of development (this is the first patch of the game I guess), there would be a lot more to be tweaked, to be improved and to be implemented. I suggest you keep being active on giving feedback here in discussions, the devs would love that.

Yeah, I suppose you are right. I couldn't put it down if I wanted to. It is too fun. I underestimated the map size big time. I've barely covered any of the area in 10 hours. I can tell it is going ti take a while to get through. With a few combat and skill tweaks, it will be one of the best open world rpgs. I like it more than boarderlands, but that is subjective.

Great feedback, thanks a ton!

Glad it was good feedback.

With the bandages I was thinking they just heal over time. No nerfs to health. Maybe remove the yellow bar? Like, you bandage and it heals 5 health per second or whatever suitable(not sure the numbers). What do you figure?

I just have to say: Upgrade the fire spell so it do more damage over time is greate.... the Ice one just slow down ( and do more damage ) 2% for every uppgrade...thats maby good for some but not for me.... But I guess all the spells is good for some play style.... I usaly go for a fire first and then hammer on whid ice and bullets ;)

I played 38 hours now and seen all to the tower in the wood...but missed aloth also :)

Only problem I have is that I did not use eny special ammo...and then it get to 999 you cant auto pick up eny more...you can still drag and drop...but if its enemys around that tahes for ever and you get killed......

So please fix so as long as we have free inventory boxes let us keep auto pick upp bullets even if we have one box whid 999 bullets !

You can sell ammo at the shops, revolver ammo really starts to pile up. The hat that gives you stealth was from a mob in Edge Town Cave called "The Cave Assassin" btw, quite cool.

My main gripe is that for a wizard class, magic doesn't seem to be better than simply using a good shotgun, I think magic needs a major buff, or perhaps give the wizard class reduced damage with firearms and cheaper/faster magic for example.

I think so far, in my 50 hours of playing, I feel as though there isn't a lot of firearm variance. When I first explored Edge Town Cave, I got a unique pistol that increased damage with headshots, and I was excited that future weapons would all have some sort of unique effect. But so far, when you start looting weapon chests, you'll notice the weapons have such minor differences between them, its almost laughable.

Take the rare pistol "The Judge" for example, compared to another rare pistol both from tier 3 weapon chests, I think maybe its called the Midnight Justice or something, but one pistol has EXACTLY the same stats, except for 1 bloom more on one. Which is so minor, it feels kind of boring to just loot similar weapons.

But yeah, other than that great game.

One thing I do not agree with here is levelling being too slow.
I am pretty sick of games where you go from lev 1 to max in just a few hours so it's nice to find games here and there where you aren't just zooming through levels.

Although, tbh, I am not finding it that slow. Just running around shooting camps full of bandits, scorpions and quests has me blazing through levels fast enough.
cassiels Sep 6, 2019 @ 8:11am
Leveling depends on how you play the game. If you rush through all the quests, avoiding nuisances on the way, then you might find leveling slow.

I leveled up very fast, level 18 now, not because I did so many quests but because I get lost all the time.

I have trouble finding locations because I never know where my character is, specifically if there are no reference points, and even then. "Just south of .." etc turns out to be on the next section of the map to the south-east. I have spent a lot of time searching for caves and cellars, and I will never leave a bandit alive on the way, even if I have raided their camp five times already.

By the way, where is Leon's cellar? I will be level 20 by the time I find it.

I do not mind grinding. I played a ton of runescape. It is just seeking out random mobs to get those extra levels is tedious. If there was more mobs in the map, I think I'd be happier with leveling. It is just too much empty space.

Nex Sep 6, 2019 @ 6:49pm
Maybe it is on me. I just feel like the quest levels do not match what you are fighting. I feel under powered. I'd rather more challenging AI than bullet sponges to this extreme. Makes everything your level seem to have godlike health. They hit a lot harder than you. They are just dumb, so that is your advantage.. Hope Ai improves a lot..

I was hoping for a lot of cool weapons. Now I am feeling disappointed.

Weapons should have magic damage. Buffs to magic. Like a shotguns imbued with fire magic. Stuff like that will make this game.
