Nymbus Island

Is there any way to progress further on Nymbus island? Tess's contraption allows me to insert a solenoid, a null rune, a nature rune, or a storm rune, but only one of those at a time. It doesn't seem to do anything. There is also a null rune symbol on a big stone near the part of the jungle that seems like it should be a path leading somewhere, but I couldn't find anywhere to actually place a null rune there. It seems like if it were just not implemented yet in alpha, they wouldn't have implemented Tess's dialogue about it and the ability to place stuff in the contraption. Anyone know what to do?

nymbus island has no 'progression' right now, there are only 4 things you can do there for now. make bets on the hermite races, talk to samera for the Zapper recipie, catch storm/moon chimera in the upper area, and feeessshhhh. there is also the feessssh hat you can buy

I got some ember crumble from nymbus island and i can't figure out what dropped this for me.
