How they got corrupt is another matter not related to the simulator itself.
I disconnected all external gadgets and HDD's and this solved my problem. It seems RF.9.5 has a dislike for an external SSD. Because when I disconnected everything, including the external SSD and switched the PC back on. RF 9.5 decided to reinstall itself to the internal SSD 9 Drive C: as soon as it finished installing the controller appeared on screen and allowed me to align and calibrate it and actually work. So don't install on a external SSD Try installing on your C: drive. GOOD LUCK
Please note, I found "easy" mode far too slow, and it takes some time to set it up correctly. I thought using switches a,b c,d etc and then switch the same switches to 1,2,3,4 etc. rather misleading. I paid well over $300 for not much more than an sew extra planes and flight fields. Using the old Interlink Elite didn't seem to give better flight control. I recommend buying just the software and using your old controller, it's a lot cheaper. It doesn't seem to fly any better than RF7.
Notice RF is now allowing version 7 and 8 to fly with version 9,5. Possibly an indication of fewer 9,5 buyers ?
If not you can create additional installation paths in Steam. I have four such target paths on my machine and can choose from any when I hit install.
See the Steam settings...
I shall take these suggestions into consideration during the installation.
Many thanks.
When i tried to run RealFlight 9.5s, I was getting a message
=> Please connect a RealFlight controller device or Windows joystick.
=> If you have a RealFlight Wired Interface, please make sure your radio is connected and powered on.
=> If your controller is plugged in, please refer to pinned posts .....
I also noticed in device manager, that I had a device that was
=> Unknown USB Device (Device Description Request Failed)
What I did was -
1 - plugged the Interlink DX into a POWERED USB hub
It did the rest for me, and when having waited 15 seconds i pressed retry, to run RealFlight 9.5s, it was all working.
You may have to also do the following in device manager
A - click on the Unknown Device
B - uninstall the device from device manager
C - scan for hardware changes
