Idiots guide to installing mods
As it says, is there an idiots guide for doing this, any time I try I keep getting error messages about the Melon loader needing net.6 to be installed even though it is definitely in the pack that I'm extracting - does it need to be activated somehow?
I'm usually ok doing this sort of thing but I'm stumped here.

I've figured out what's wrong, all sorted.

Not gonna tell us your solution in case someone else has the same problem as you?
This is going to be a bit slow, but works:
When you launch your game after installing melon loader, you get a window full of text in addition to your game window (may need to alt+tab). It's basically a log, and should have a scrollbar. By default, melon loader tries to load some dependencies from git hub, but uses the wrong connection type (as noted in the snarls of red text).
Near the top of that snarl is a bit in green, and a bit in white. The green shows the running command, and the white shows what it's trying to do. Notably, it says where it's getting a given dependency, followed by where it's putting that. If you right-click that string of text, it'll copy to ram.
Then open your browser, and paste that into the address bar. Unfortunately, you have to delete the second half of it (Probably something like "c:\program files\steam.."). After deleting the second part, just hit "Enter" and you'll auto download the file you need. Put it in the directory listed in the second half of the string (The part we deleted. Sorry, just paste again and you'll see it).
If you're faster on the uptake than I am, you'll notice that the listing of where to put a given file shows a slightly different file name. The CP2ILL exe needs its version number removed, and the harmony zip (which you'll get next) needs added text and an underline renamed in front of the numbered zip file you got. Close the UA:D window, then launch the game again. You'll get another error, and repeat the above for a different file.

Again, if you're better at this stuff than I am you'll already have noticed that the files need renamed. I had to do it the hard way, which is to (again) close UA:D, and re-launch. This time you'll get an error about a missing file (because the ones we got manually have to be renamed to the filename the log says is missing). Rename the first file (in ...\melon loader\dependencies\... to what is shown in the log as missing, then rinse and repeat for the second file.
Once you've successfully downloaded, moved and renamed those 2 files, melon loader should load melons, err... mods, correctly (the log will have a bunch of white text instead of all that red stuff). If anything else goes wrong, it probably has more to do with mod incompatibilities than the loader that taxes your melon :)
