Regardless, I agree. Warships with blast bags, Carley floats, and dazzle camo look quite nice.
Flash is just being silly as usual. Why I had to give him a jester...
Ahhh
I have illustrations of Mikasa with sand bags but I have not seen any actual pictures of Japanese battleships with sandbags on them. You have any to share?
i was just point out this kind of cosmetic thing ant important. they serve no function atm.
if we really want something on deck. we might just do lifeboats (let player place it and the amount of lifeboat will contribute how much crew u gonna save if sunk. and lifeboat location will block gun shooting angle. etc)
majority of sandbag usage is actually at the very end of ww2. when CV and aircraft were dominating. IJN ships' AA capability is very lacking. so they put tons sand bags and additional AA guns on their ships to boost their coverage and reduce chances of deck crew getting wounded by flying shrapnel.
and of course ww2 pic is hard to find.(japanese probably wont put sandbags on them when they are purposely taking picture of it to show to journalist. US bomber wont take picture at close range during the fight)
but u will see it in most movies.
during that time era. exposed deck AA crew have to take their aiming device and hide in the cabin before its maingun fires.
yamato decide to fire sanshiki (460mm AA shell) in the middle of US bombing.
but AA crew were having adrenaline rush while firing their AA guns. they heard nothing and keep firing (sirens i believe).
after yamato fires its sanshiki shell. all the deck crew were blasted away into water/knocked out of conscious. it actually weakens the overall AA capability.
and of course those 460mm shell hits nothing
