Naval Academy progress spontaneously resets to zero

Am I the only one who keeps getting their Naval Academy progress spontaneously reset?

I'll dip into the game for a bit, playing one or two mission every now and then, working my way through the first 10-15 Naval Academy missions and then, next time I go to play, my progress has been reset and I'm back to square one. At this point I'll go "screw this" and ditch the game for a while, because I'm sick of having to redo the same missions again. Eventually, some months later, I'll decide to give the game another try in the hope that this time I won't get my progress reset, but sure enough it happens again. It's got to have been a least half a dozen times this has happened to me now, and it's completely ruining my ability to get any enjoyment out of the game.

It happened again this evening. I loaded up the game, and had a go at the Navel Academy mission Destroyer Attack. I quit the game for half an hour or so to do something else, loaded it back up for another attempt, and sure enough Navel Academy progress was back to zero. I can't even manually fix this myself because the saved game state has been migrated from editable .json files to opaque .bin files.

That would be "no" here. My Academy progress hasn't changed in more than 8 months.

I've never bothered with the Naval Academy.
