Quadruple Turrets
Just wondering if the Quadruple turrets will be in an upcoming update?

I would Like to know too. Although they weren't widly used by anybody but the french... I think It would be just the thing for those people who just want to through as much lead downrange and see what sticks... Though probably should have a accuracy and rof disadvantage.

And hey if they do workshop mods as well maybe we can get turrets with even more barrels....

The English used them for their King Georges V-class too.
I want them badly into the game too, as soon as possible.
They said in the forum, if I remember correctly, that these details will be adressed after the end of the campaign coding and testing.
They are only 3 people working on that game. A bit of patience is in order, I guess, especially with the covid-19 problems.

I only ask because some ships used them even though rare. ;)
Richelieu and Prince of Wales are examples of battleships that used them. would be cool to recreate those ships in the game. :D

They will come surely. But we should be patient. :-/

Is there any downside to quad turrets vs triple turrets vs dual turrets? If its just "more = better" then that seems to take a decision away from the player. Historically most ships used dual or triple so there must have been some downside.
Hopefully the developers will make some sort of trade off so the player has interesting choices to make.

As I know, the quadruple turrets (the french ones at least) dispersion was so bad that they were firing two guns of the quadruple at a time to prevent it. But maybe I am wrong. It was only (for the french) to be able to charge with the nose to the ennemy and fire all guns nonetheless with the two turrets on the forward deck.

Off the top of my head I think only the French Dunkerque class and the British King George V class had Quadruple Turrets. They should be added as an advanced tech, but I don't see it being a big priority at the moment.

Richelieu class were under construction, they had quad turrets as well.
Lyon, Normandie and Alsace classes would also have mounted them but they got canceled before construction started.

I think if they add France to the campaign they really need to add the quad mounts since a lot of their designs used them, but certainly not a priority until then.

The Battleship Richelieu was finished and even had a carreer in the pacific after joining the allies, and her sistership Jean-Bart was almost completed and was bombed by USS Massachussets when she was moored in Casablanca. Dunkerque and Strasbourg were battlecruisers and were scuttled in Toulon before Germany could capture them.

They should have the sextuple gun turrets like the ones in the Tillman battleships. (6 guns in one turret)

Well to be fair I would say the Tillmans were a exercise in insanity!

I mean even the H-44 was kinda crazy but could make sense to a extent of some sort...

I agree completely and would like to see all armaments country/faction specific, such as 5.9" secondaries and destroyer armaments in the later German ships, differences in the individual sleeved RN quad turrets vs the pair grouped quads in the French capitol ships, with the accompanying penalties in accuracy due to shell interference that was a known problem on the French ships, etc. Accurate shell performance would be great as well, as only some navies had heavy and/or super heavy shells available, and certainly the performance of different nation's 12" or 14" or 16" or what have you all varied rather widely depending on barrel length, velocity, shell design, etc.

I think they posted on their forums that its on the list of things they will look into but was basically at the bottom.. so not any time soon.
