Battleship with 13 inch gun wont fire at the enemy at a very close range? Bug?
Battleship with 13.9 inch gun wont fire at the enemy at a very close range? Bug?

I have this game, surely my battleship is superior compared to the enemy, i hammered the enemy BB in long range but its armor so thick so i close in, but when we are so close at each other side by side at a range of 1000 meters my ships gun wont fire, i noticed this several times, is this a bug? or this depends on the size of the artillery I am using? if this is not a bug I assume there is a hidden limit where guns not allowed to shoot?

Additional Info, gun is set to "Save Ammo"

Never had that, but i could imagine that due to close range:
-maybe the enemy ship is "lower" then yours and the guns cant aim downwards
-you ship is moving (pitch/roll) too much so that you guns cant be aimed at the ship long enough.
-your guns cant keep up with the change in positions as they cant stay on target becaurse of too slow turning speed of the turrets.

Some say is wrong to have 2 different type of main guns but firstly is a huge gap between them secondly it does not exist a MK3 secondary to replace them at that date.

True it is, but i have also had this happen to me with BB's and BC's that have usually 8-12 secondary guns on each side, but sometimes were getting hit consistently but my guns wont fire, when actually my ships and guns have a far higher fire rate at these close ranges..
yep must be a bug, or there is a hidden stat where a big gun cant shoot, i hope we can get a better explanation to this from devs, or at least the game show a ship radius where it cant fire its guns

annoying I save and make a replay my guns wont fire lol its happening again even at 4k range

ok I observe my BB wont fire at close range maybe because of underwater torp that is equip. when i turn off the torp, the main guns start firing.

Why do firing torpedoes stop gunnery fire? It can't chew gum and walk at the same time?

This has been an aggravation of long standing, as well as the ships failing to fire torpedoes, when the AI is spamming them like crazy.

I've observed the gun paralysis as well, even my Veteran gunnery crews seem to go silent at the most inopportune moments. It's all a "crutch" to benefit the AI.

In the past, when i was still using submerged torps on (per-dread) BBs, they were quite reliable and a good weapon to torp close by TBs wanting to torp me. I never experienced any problems with guns stopping to fire back then.
What can be, we had that bug in the past that the main guns wont fire if to many fast firing secondaries were present. Maybe its something like that, the game wants to fire the torp, cant due to whatever, maybe range or angle, and the game wont move on on the "fire" list.
