How to effectively increase unrest to cause a revolution?
I'm playing as the Qing dynasty since the 1890, and snowballed my technology to never lose a battle on the sea. Problem is, the GDP debuff for absolute monarchy is horrendous, and I hope a revolution can democratize the government. What kind of actions apart from the occasional news events can help me increase unrest?

I'm guessing purposefully losing a battle may add unrest, but are there any difference if the battle is lost by a smaller fleet of destroyers or a fleet consisting of capital ships?
Is the amount of unrest you get based on the sunk tonnage? Does the technology you use on the ship you lost matter? In other words, if I spam a huge fleet of extremely cheap destroyers with the lowest technology and most basic weaponry and send them on a suicide run, do I get the same amount of unrest compare to losing a battle with properly equipped state of the art battleships?

IIRC last time I had a revolution I lost 10 years of GDP.
May be you can choose 2 countries why you are friendly and provoke them alternativaly each round. Usually it make ground people anger vs government.
Alternate is because you cant repeat the same diplo action with a country twice iin 2 rounds.
With countries you are friendly is to avoid to go at war since it is not the goal.
