Conclusions from the first campaign for Japan 1890-1950
Conclusions from the first campaign for Japan 1890-1950

I finished my first campaign for Japan 1890-1950 in UAD 1.2.9R. When January 1950 came in the middle of the world war, the game simply congratulated me on the end of the campaign and gave me a window with a pitiful semblance of final statistics, which angered me with its blatant inaccuracy. I wanted to see what state my fleet and the fleets of other powers were in at the end of the campaign, but the game did not allow this, it just ended the campaign, and I didn’t figure out how to save in December 1949.

Developers, please correct the final statistics of the campaign, because it does not correspond at all to the records that I kept. I sank over a hundred British BBs, but only 22 were credited to me. For the fleets of other nations, a similar lie.

Okay, let's leave the sins of statistics on the conscience of the developers, and I will share a few of my findings.

1. Submarines steer and pedal. By the end of the campaign, my three hundred I-boats not only held back the tsunami of the British fleet, but also allowed my small force to cope while most of the fleet was being repaired in bases. I had no more than 3-4 BBs at sea out of my 24. The rest were repaired at the shipyards.

Submarines are way too powerful Über weapons in the game.

2. My newest 30-knots BBs with a displacement of 52,000 tons, armed with 3x3 14", 4 x 3 6" in experimental hulls, on gas turbines and the best strongholds and anti-flooding, experienced battles with huge British BBs of 80-90,000 tons with giant guns of 460 mm. So, the BB should be the most tenacious ship in the fleet.

2. My 36 knot gas turbine heavy cruisers 9-12 x 9" Mark 5 have performed amazingly.

3. Of course, the BB and CA should not carry torpedo tubes, so as not to try to attack with torpedoes and therefore it is dangerous to approach the enemy.

4. My gas turbine 10,000 tons light cruisers up to 38 knots, with 12x6" and 5-12 610mm oxygen torpedoes are not only "big destroyers", but also excellent shooters when the torpedoes are over. I managed to design such a light cruiser that had maximum armor with maximum structural protection, high speed, and excellent artillery.

5. My DDs are workers of war. I came to the conclusion that the DD should have two torpedo tubes, for example 2x2 or 2x3, than 1x4 or 1x5 and excellent artillery so that there is something to do after the torpedoes run out.

Oh yes, Japan ended the campaign by capturing the far east of the Asian mainland and having three remote island possessions inherited from France, Britain and Germany. Spain, the Soviet Union and China dissolved.

Interestingly, my Japan almost didn't face the US in combat because Britain was killing the US fleet before it could reach me.

I almost forgot, I ended the campaign with Naval Prestige equal to 501

Ask if you are interested, I will be happy to tell you the details.

Now looking forward to UAD 1.3 to start the campaign for Spain.

I play the stable version 1.2.9R, but not the beta test 1.3.xxx, which is available after special manipulations in the steam client.
