get rid of subs
the subs are getting annoying i am playing as the Americans and i am at war and all the ai is using is subs. i thought this is a game about battle ships not subs. devs take subs out of the game

Why? Subs are kinda useless and don't really do anything. If you have any degree of ASW on your lighter vessels like CLs and DDs, then they drop like flies. In all of the campaigns I've had against the AI, I've never had them succeed in a single submarine attack against me, and I have a 90%+ kill rate against them.
Better option is to keep the subs in the game but give us the option to turn subs off. Would like to see this with carriers too, who know this maybe an update just down the road.

I think that's certainly a fair compromise.

I hope we will not see carrier at this game, for subs, bah, they are harmless when AI controlled, and useless when player controlled. Subs were present at dreadnought time, so why not. I dont care of it nor build subs anyway.
The only use I can see for subs could be as minelayers, but I didnt tried that at that time, CL do the job.

It'd be great if we could get them to raid convoys and do port strikes without having to use a full battle fleet for it, ya know?

Having a gun armed cruiser sub for convoy raids would be great and a cool nod to real-life designs.

At one point there was an option to remove mines and subs from the campaign. That disappeared pretty fast though.

I'd really like the option to remove mines and subs. These take away player agency and, to me at least, cause a lot of frustration.

Better still would be the inclusion of subs on the battle-map so that we can actually fight them instead of relying on RNG to see what happens.

There is options on destroyers and cruisers to detect and sink subs, as well as lay mines amd clear mines. I you remove subs and mines, for sure my destroyers will become beast of war, with the weight I will save.
At the end you will have no difference between DD and CL except may be the size.

Honestly I find subs and mines useful and enjoyable, and gives destroyers greater roles in my fleet. I like for them to remain in the game.

I would like to play subs in battles though. Would be fun

Subs are in the game for when you're losing your ass in a capital ship war. They're cheap, quick, sink transports, and can blockade enemy nations while you're busy fighting elsewhere. Like mines, they can also damage enemy fleets that go without escort.

No removal. You're the Ultimate Admiral, and that means dealing with subs.

My capital ships never travel without 3 destroyers who all have asw and anti mines capacities when available.
I used destroyers to lay mines in my first games, but now I devolve that to light cruisers to gain weight on DD.

Not exactly helpful, though, when you're doing a challenge run, such as BB or CA ships only.

There will not be aircraft carriers because then they'd have to make a flight and weapon model for aircraft, and also add anti-aircraft weapons and logic. Then the game would run at 6fps.

Subs force mixed fleets, requiring escorts with ASW, as well as near proportionate numbers of DD or CL overall to defend the transports.
