Has anyone taken over the world?
I'm just really curious as to what happens if someone is patient or determined enough to actually occupy all other major nation's coastal territories. The game slows down too much around 1905-1910 starting on 1890 for me to tolerate a "Britannia rules all" kind of play-though. does nothing happen as you just make obsolete your own navy or does something else actually happen that makes it worth while. Got halfway through before turns took 5-10 minutes to load and gave up. (Bonus if the game hard crashes several times)

You suppose to win, at least according to end-date message, but it's more or less impossible since land battles are way too random and fallen major nation will try to return to the map.

I got quite close with an USA game. Had over a hundred provinces in mid-40s after conquering France, Spain, Italy, A-H and China. Also picked up a lot of ex-British provinces after their Empire dissolved. The only major powers left were:
Rump "German" state in Poland/Lithuania
Russia, down to its Muscovy core
Japan, quietly sitting there in untouched isolationism after losing a war in the 1900s.

The game seemed to speed up turn processing as major nations were eliminated. As for whether it's fun... well, to a point. Managing all those naval invasions can be tedious. It's definitely very grindy at the end if you want a World Conquest.

There is no Moscow region in the game, it is part of Central Russia.

Of course it's does, not only game don't need to think where that nation's fleets going to go, more importly it's stoped doing ship designs for them. Ship designs take majority of the turn time. And what's why having decent amount of Shared Designs and allowing AI to use it helps to reduce turns time too.

The World Conquest will not be trully ended without taking over all that minor nations and this is basically pure rng in the peacetime to even trigger.

If you want to be totally pedantic, sure. My threshold for a WC is that there is no second major nation in existence, which results in me being the only possible ally for any remaining minor nation. They're irrelevant.

I did this (by cheating infinite money) and the game ends with: "Reason: Peace treaty signed"

Haven't had too many issues with long turns lately, used to be when the AI developed a few new techs they'd design a whole new fleet and that was a major cause of slow turns. Seems they improved on it quite a bit, haven't had a 5min turn wait in a while and the crashes have become pretty rare (mostly post and pre-battle crashes now).
Got REAL close with Japan, within just a few nations.
I had conquered the world with either the US or Britain, forgot which. It's the same end screen as hitting the turn limit, just comes up sooner.

You can, but it's dependent on far too much RNG.

The game ends if all the major nations beside you are dissolved. I was in a 1937 or so campaign and had the last two major countries suddenly basically "transport kill" each other. They both poofed and the game was over.

You guys never made it to the end?

I should mention this is a pretty old pic (you can tell by the older map).

I dont know why it says : End reason low victory points.

This was the original end of the game at 1950 and you retired.

I found that eliminating 2 nations really sped things up. To speed it up even more I made a mod with no LC/DD/sub and turns were incredibly fast even in the 1.6 builds.

The bad news is that if a nation dissolves it can come back in like 2-5 years (or at least in old builds). When it came back it would always have "super advanced tech" to be like 1 year behind the player which was extremely cheating since the AI is always like 10 years behind me.

Many things changed since that time. The nation economics probably got more rebalances and fixes than torpedo hit detection.
