How to blockade Britain?

I have absolute control (projection wise) over the North Sea, Irish Sea and English Channel, yet I can't seem to blockade them? They have no allies, so that's not it, if they had I'd have included their projection into the calculation, obviously.

Is there another sea region you need to control, because their core territories don't belong to any but the ones I already dominate.

Not sure if it's been changed since August '22, but some of their home ports (maybe the ones in Ireland) count as North Atlantic even though it's not always clear on the map.

Irish Sea, North Sea, English Channel are the areas that need TF's. North Atlantic might be one but I don't remember putting ships there.
If you hover your mouse over the Sea name your pop-up will tell you Tonnage/Ports Info. If it shows your enemy with ##### ports then put a TF's there. Only around their Home Provinces. You don't have to blockage minor Provinces like the Brits at Bermuda.

Experienced this issue today as well. Also noticed I wasn't sinking any UK merchantmen in those areas, despite large power projection numbers which were more than sufficient to blockade every other nation I tried it on. Very odd.

I don't associate Transport Missions or Transports Sunk messages with a Naval Blockade, in this game anyhow. Not seen anything that would connect the two, again, in game.

I have noticed that sinking transports for a weak Nation that has no Navy or Sea power rarely happen. There are very few "Nation XYZ looses 5 Transports in the Deep Blue Sea region" announcements.
Maybe that is because there Transport slider is turned off / down? There economy is that bad?

Honestly, blockading doesn't seem to make a huge amount of sense to me anymore. At one point as China I was at war with Spain, and got a message saying that I'd successfully blockaded them. This was news to me given that the closest my fleets were to Spanish territory was around the Philippines.
