i have 0 ships in the port. all of my ships are trying to invade manila. i have some ships in repair or refit but they cannot join the battle. can they?!
They should be in the nearest port up to 1 turn distance, are they?
yes they are.
im pretty sure the enemy gets my ships from my invading force.

Your enemy caught 1 of your task force that consist only 4 ships and launch a surprise attack.
Too bad UAD can't have reinforcement join battle halfway, so your caught ships can only fight on their own.
i was talking about total amount around the invasion area. and they are split equal
Can anyone think of any occasion within, say, the last 120 years, where such a thing EVER happened? The only thing coming to my mind is the battle of Samar on october 25th of 1944, being part of the greater battle of Leyte Gulf.
What I would like to point out here is this:
Such occurances, while not being COMPLETELY impossible, are EXTREMELY rare and require VERY specific conditions and circumstances to actually happen. The campaign-AI, on the other hand, will have no problem at all to catch your partial-fleets practically EVERY turn - with NO preparation whatsoever, no serious blunders required on your part (as was the case with admiral Halsey and his handling of his overall forces at Leyte Gulf which led to the battle of Samar as it took place)... Therefore, I consider this sort of "mission" under the circumstances a really terrible misrepresentation of modern naval combat.
As task forces, they form up when leaving port. But they will NOT be merged together even they stay together in sea and shown like a big group.
also... i was wondering with thousand others... when will ou set up a good UI (tool tip box) so we can see the game?
thanks
