Any Strategy in This Game?
i have 52s hrs in this game so far and probably will be more soon.. game is so fun
but the more i play the game the more i notice there are no strategy at all in the game.
all i do is wait for the higher or new technology ( keep clicking next turn) and build ships and fight....
so... i dont know if i explained myself well or not..
there is no strategy in the game.. no tactics.. nothing.. just build a navy and fight. and even worse the auto result is so funny... more worst is when you quit from a fight in the middle of a battle the AI calculate all again and even your sinked ship can come back to life and you can even win the battle.
there are sea battles all around the map where you didnt even send your ships.. or not order to go and patrol that area (because you dont have such options)..

so whats the point of this game? what am i trying to do?!

Why are naval battles not having any tactics/strategy?

Naval strategy is largely build strategy, that is to say that what your fleet can do is mostly determined by what ships they have.

Beyond that, the next biggest influence is probably positioning...where are your ships based? Where do you send them? etc.

Actual battle tactics are quite limited compared to land battles. There's not really a whole lot of clever s*** you can pull when you have to sail into range to shoot at each other on the open ocean. Naval gun battles are largely determined by crew training, ship quality, and sometimes a clever maneuver like crossing the T or having some small escorts charge the enemy to draw fire and buy time for other more valuable ships to escape.

As far as naval strategy/tactics goes in a game what is your idea of "better naval strategy/tactics game" than what you described? What do you expect?

The game is focused on Admiral Level, so is the strategy:

. Tech priorities
. Fleet composition (number of BB, BC, CA, etc)
. Quality vs quantity (few super BBs, or a horde of gunboats)
. Fleet size
. Flee deployment

And all the battle startegy

Exactly, on a navy versus navy based game that's all the strategy you're supposed to be getting.

You can choose where to launch naval invasions(ok, some are forced upon you and some are denied). This has huge knock-on consequences - for example, if you have enough ports to have truly global reach, you no longer need ships with maximum range. And taking another major empire's home ports adds them to your new-ship-port options.

A bit of grand strategy is if you manage to force a colonial empire out of a region entirely(eg. British, French or Spanish out of Caribbean/Southeast Asia/Africa), then they will no longer send their ships back and forth there. Alternatively, you can exploit that tendency by leaving them with one small port in the region, behind a dense network of mined ports and minelayer submarines. In the end, they'll be begging you to take that ♥♥♥♥♥♥♥ province away, lol
