Disparate Targeting Accuracy
I just played a custom battle. As far as I can tell the technology between both fleets should have been roughly equal. Yet, I was having 3% hit rate while being hit at 12%. Eventually, after closing distance, I was hitting at 10% while being hit at 50%. That's bad news, of course. Am I missing a setting or is this a game issue?

It is possible you were being targeted by multiple ships? I've had that issue, where my flagship is the target and the other ships are not catching any fire. It feels exactly as you described.

Having more information about your custom battle might allow devs and others to recreate the situation. Just a thought.

I am sure I was being targeted by multiple ships. But at the same time, all three of my ships were on their lead ship too. As for settings...nothing unusual. 1920 battlecruiser fight with default settings. UK vs France.

There are a LOT of factors. Most of which everyone is still trying to figure out. Some confirmed variables include:

Whether you are going at your "cruise speed"
How fast or slow your target is going
Which direction relative to you are they going
Gun caliber
If any hits are landing (you get an accuracy penalty if you are getting hit)
Environmental factors
Platform stability
Coincidence vs stereoscopic rangefinders

can you expand on those?
I know one gives "long range accuracy", whereas the other "base accuracy". Where does "long range" start and end?
