Tested it out, and the cannon mods seems to work pretty well as far as I can see. Thanks for sharing!

Glad to hear it. Let me know if you encounter any bugs. I didn't test the Cannon stuff too much, only the rifles.

Regarding ships: Its possible, but not as easy as the cannon/rifle stuff because of the way its coded. May do it in the future.

you can edit cannon weights. make them weigh 1 and you can make your hull/planking thicker without losing firepower/crew.

This is great. Is there a way to mod the way the shot spread pattern works, and the way penetration works in regards to angling?
cruiser Mar 10, 2020 @ 3:08pm
Right now it takes more than 3 times as long to kill a ship that's pointing towards you than to kill a ship parallel to you, due to shots missing and bouncing off.
This is not conducive to good gameplay, so I'd like to change the spread pattern so that less shots miss when shooting at a perpendicular ship, and less shots bounce off the sides when shooting at a perpendicular ship (they should hit the front/back panel instead and penetrate it).

change vertical and horizontal spread to 0.5 or lower for much better grouping. Change "mass" to higher numbers to increase penetration.

Yeah i believe you would want to change the ballistics, but i haven't tested any of it myself.

Thank you. I'm not looking to increase penetration as a whole. I'm just looking to increase penetrate at an acute angle only, or to reduce the chance of shots hitting the sides when shooting at the front/back of the ship (basically changing the shape of the "armor box" of a ship)

Reducing horizontal spread and increasing vertical spread to compensate seems to be a great (and realistic) way to start though, thanks.

Just FYI, please update to v1.2 of equipment mod. Fixed a bug which can cause your game to not load.
AdmiralKenobi Mar 14, 2020 @ 8:08am
Appreciate the update. How dependent is the mod on the game version, though? It seemed to work fine so far for me, despite the game updating multiple times.

I'd expect it to be pretty safe. Most of that code has been same since UG

Does the stat export for naval guns include their penetration fallof rate or something similar?
