The discord [discord.gg] community has created several guides designed around helping new players learn the game. The game is still being developed so everything in these guides are subject to change and could be outdated. I've got an overview of the guns here[docs.google.com] that could be useful, though it has already been updated for the next patch that fixes the reloads, weights and prices, which has not yet been pushed to steam.

Also made an (incomplete) overview of ships and their stats here[docs.google.com]. It also lists the max weight of guns you can mount on a deck, though not all ships have been tested fully, and since I have already found exceptions to my Armstrong equivalence theory these are marked orange.

What does SPREAD means in this game?

To be honest, I am not 100% certain. Based on observation (which is tainted by it being during normal battles) it is the measure in which a correctly aimed shot will deviate from its target. E.g. during a broadside exchange (so no turning or other sudden movements) a lower spread gun should land more hits on target (all else being equal of course). Sadly this is tricky to verify for sure. I'll probably ask the devs at some point, and if I find out for sure I'll let it know.

I have updated and refined most of the ship overview, but after overwriting one of my test saves on accident I can't acces (all) stats for the 5th Rate Leda-class or the 4th Rate 1794's Razée. I'm working through a medium British campaign to see if I can acquire them, but it might take a while.

@Fail_Knight since you've been doing the cannon comparisons. If you have any recommendations on improved descriptions to help distinguish them a bit more that would be helpful. I just went through them to update the techs with what gets unlocked and there are so many naval cannon that comparing them is a nightmare currently.

Hi! Kinda a weird question. but my game keeps crashing in the 'spanish gold' mission. I tried using fewer troops, fewer ships, all didn't work. It's gotten to a point where I've been playing it 6 times and 6 times it crashed, tried it with diffrent computers aswell, it simply wont work.

It is me or is there a bug in the system?

Try to verify the integrity of the game on properties. I had a crash when the game showed me only pink instead of buildings and it worked after this check.

Steam will tell you if you have an corrupted folder and you will be able to see if it's about your files or the game it's not ok from the developer.
