This Land Is My Land

This Land Is My Land

Why You Should Not Buy This Land Is My Land
At first glance, This Land Is My Land offers a captivating premise: the chance to play as a Native American chief resisting colonizers in a vast open world. However, beneath this promising exterior lies a technical wreck that fails to deliver on its potential. If you are considering buying this game, here is why you should save your money and your time:

1. It is Effectively "Abandonware"
The biggest issue isn't just the bugs; it’s the fact that they will never be fixed. After the developer, Game-Labs, was acquired by Stillfront Group, their focus shifted entirely to newer, more profitable projects. Combined with the geopolitical situation affecting the developers, the game has been left to rot. When you buy this, you are investing in a product that even its creators have given up on.

2. Immersion-Breaking Technical Failures
For a simulation game, immersion is everything. TLIML shatters that immersion constantly:

"Ghost" Wildlife: There is a complete lack of collision boxes on animals. You can walk straight through a massive bear or a horse as if they aren't there.

X-Ray Vision AI: In a game built on stealth, enemies will often spot you through solid rocks, thick foliage, or hills. This fundamentally breaks the core gameplay loop.

Physics Anomalies: Ragdolls flying into the stratosphere and horses clipping into the ground are not rare occurrences—they are part of the daily routine.

3. A "Full Release" That Still Feels Like an Alpha
The game is officially out of Early Access, but it feels like a broken prototype. Frequent quest-trigger failures (where camps won't clear even after every enemy is dead), items vanishing from your inventory, and erratic AI behavior are unacceptable for a game marketed as a "1.0" finished product.

4. Repetitive and Soulless Gameplay
While the first few camp raids are satisfying, the game quickly devolves into a tedious grind. The world feels hollow. The "Social Stash" and tribe management systems lack depth and eventually feel like chores rather than meaningful strategic choices. The lack of polish makes every interaction feel clunky and unrewarding.

5. Better Alternatives Exist
Your money is better spent elsewhere. For the same price—or less during sales—you can purchase games that are polished, supported by their developers, and feature living, breathing worlds. Buying TLIML is simply paying for a "what could have been" disappointment.

Final Verdict: This Land Is My Land is a tragic example of a great concept ruined by poor management and technical neglect. If you don't want to spend your evening asking, "Why did I pay for this?", stay away.

This statement is entirely accurate,

and unfortunately, I also have a few minor but important gameplay details to add...

1.) If you have destroyed a fort by killing or intimidating all its troops,
and then try to collect your loot from all the chests scattered around too quickly or carelessly, and accidentally bump into furniture while running too fast,
you will very often be launched vertically into the air with a cannon or something else that you can't see,
which the developers seem to have hidden and implemented as a kind of trap.

Upon touching this furniture, you will be instantly killed and, of course, due to this long flight (which the developers must have or had),
you will be dropped off in one of the four corners of the map without your horse or any of your equipment, leaving you to figure out how to get back to the starting point. ...his horse and essential survival equipment... (especially annoying if you've disabled fast travel,^^)

So, unfortunately, you're more often killed by targeted attacks from enemy furniture,

than by enemies or carnivorous animals...,^^

2.)
You should really keep a close eye on this development team... ;)

because this game is already the third half-finished game in a row from this team,
which they again delivered and placed on store shelves in (almost) unplayable condition...

Two independent and therefore unbiased, and in my opinion very good, strategy game streamers on YouTube explicitly warned against this development team and this game title,
because this team has never done their homework and only wants to sell broken, half-finished games,
which they then coldly and without any sense of honor abandon, rendering them unplayable and with no prospect of bug fixing,
only to immediately start another game title with the exact same tactic each time... ;)

3.)

All NPC units have been equipped with a wallhack...!!!

This wallhack only fully activates with all its functions after a certain player level or game progression. It then captures the player from a distance of 5km, making them visible to all NPC units within that radius, even through buildings, mountains, and dense, opaque undergrowth. It also makes them vulnerable to mini-pistol attacks from approximately 0.8-2km away.

Anyone can easily test this themselves.

Just ride towards an enemy lumberjack team at their town expansion and look at the map.

You'll see them fleeing from the lumberyard as soon as the player approaches them from 4km away. ^^ (This isn't exactly the smartest cheating development team... ^^)

Alternatively, you can easily test this with weapons and weapon parts, plus a stagecoach, and clearly demonstrate that this is game manipulation through fraudulent software applications and script code. were...

Although these small pistols have the lowest upgrade level and couldn't possibly fire beyond 100-200 meters,
they still very often hit the player with a whole series of headshots at a distance of 800-1500 meters...^^

Which is why I strongly suspect a fraudulent aimbot cheat,
with which the NPCs were equipped...^^

At least this way we know exactly
which scene this team comes from...
because good, clean, and conscientious developers who are aware of their role model function steer clear of such novel schemes and highly questionable methods and can implement a balanced game even without cheats... ;)

If nobody buys their broken games anymore,

then you might even install malware through such a broken game to read data from players' home PCs and steal bank account details information or similar. to come...^^

But before fully activating all the functions of this wallhack cheat for the NPC units,

they already possess the ability, from the start of the map, to see all the player's items in all their village locations, no matter how far away they are, and then act accordingly...

They were programmed so unfairly,

and then just wait for the player to attack a somewhat larger workshop or railway line (approx. 10-15 units or more),

and then the player, due to their own fighting, no longer notices the NPC's map movements.

And then the lone postman drives directly into the player's village,
where the player has stored most of their best weapons or weapon upgrades,
in order to destroy these items.

He drives alone and unarmed into this village and then somehow manages to beat 20-30 armed warriors to death...

(If the player has already knocked him out and disarmed him beforehand, then let him go to prevent another armed postman with an escort from spawning...)

(I'm starting to get scared of Ukrainian postmen...^^)

Just to destroy or collect the distracted player's village and all its stored items...

This lone postman then literally beats one warrior after another to death until the village is lost,

or the player notices and immediately calls off their own attack to allow the village with the 30 heavily armed to help the warriors before they were all killed by the overpowered UK postman...^^

And strangely enough,

this postman dies instantly every time
the player manages to jump or ride near the village... (but only then)
as if the postman doesn't want to be seen and caught cheating by the player...^^

Which is just as ridiculous as small pistols that can fire 10 times farther than sniper rifles in the hands of pale-faced people...^^

4.)
Very often, an entire heavily armed village of 20-30 warriors is wiped out by a single, very small but seemingly overpowered UK fox...
Apparently, they have very vicious and bloodthirsty foxes running around in their forests, which apparently like to go on a blood frenzy and then wipe out entire villages. Tear them to pieces and wipe them out...^^

(Maybe they should unleash them on attackers, then they wouldn't have to hide behind women and children for weeks, only to then claim they're heroes and want to be celebrated because of the attacker's mercy and the fact that they didn't drop a carpet of bombs...)
There are countless more absurdities I could list. During a raid on a camp, one of the soldiers quickly escapes. Even if we kill everyone in the camp, as long as the escapee doesn't return, the camp isn't considered empty and we can't burn it down. Following this logic, if our country is attacked by the enemy, we could send one of our soldiers to another country, and the enemy wouldn't be considered to have won the war. If we move 300 meters away from the camp and then return, we could see that person has returned, kill them, and burn down the camp, of course. But that's also ridiculous.
You guys played for 8000 hours, clearly the game sucks... :HappyMoonman:
So you're telling us to quit the game? When you notice problems in the house you live in, do you leave the house or do you criticize the people who built the building?
the concept of the game is excellent and allows for long hours of play, but it is frustrating because it is sloppy and its price cannot be justified. With the worry at each launch that the reserve and the DLCs are not accessible.
I never bought it. After release I was interested in it for a while but "repetitive soulless gameless" was evident in the videos, it was basically just a neverending compilation of surprising people from behind and slitting their throat. Genre should be changed to "horror" and title "Friday the 13th Wild West Edition"
