Dirty Water into Clean/Distilled Water?

How do you turn dirty water into clean water? I filled a water skin(can't remember game name) from the river, but it's dirty and I can't figure out a way to boil it to make it safe to drink. I actually can't find a source of clean drinking water anywhere, I keep having to drink things I make from plants, which don't relieve much thirst.

As far as I know you can't. But apparently you can use them to poison settlements. I don't know that for sure though. I haven't tried.

I'm not positive, but I think there is a water pot in every upgraded (at least once) camp. Also, dirty water is near settlements. Ride along the river until you come to clean water. Finally, some settlements have water barrels, either stand-alone or next to a well.

Currently, there is no available feature to turn dirty water into clean one. You'll just have to search for clean water on water jugs in the Neutral Camps, Rivers, and in buckets and barrels at Enemy settlements.

It could be done with a fire.
