There are side quests but the main game goal is to drive the invaders away by taking over the map, so not a narrative story but there is an endgame goal.

The game never ends though as even at 100% of the map owned the sneaky settlers will try to squeeze their way back in.

It's a nice blend of tactical, strategic, and RPG elements. Once you get past the initial learning curve it's pretty engrossing. Lots of ways to play. I've yet to use the tomahawk or spear skills, for example.

Hello! For now, it's surviving. Story-wise, you create your own story based on your playstyle and how you deal with the challenges ahead of you while you take over your land from the enemy settlers.
