Prisoner wagons will not open

I have 2 Prisoner wagons and got 1 key (can't find the other man, who has the key, that i killed). Both wagons won't open when I drove the wagons to my closest camp.

I have 10 Natives stuck in those two wagons. Is there a console way to open them up?

You have to have the right key for each wagon, which should have been with one guy in each of the prison wagon groups. Sometimes they are glitched and even the right key won't work. If not, there's nothing you can do about it.

Same problem, got a key and still can't open :(

In one game I have two wagons with prisoners inside the cage, one key was with the drivers & escort but even that won't open the cage doors. I parked them in a camp in case the problem ever gets resolved. We need crowbars! ;)

Whenever I see prison wagons, I always knock everyone out. Just in case they dont spawn with key.

Take the wagon to your camp and eventually they will wake back up and follow you to the wagon and you have another chance to see if they have the key again. Its worked for me for the time being.

NVM, I found the workaround for it. Fast Travel back and forth and the jail key will be in their inventory..

Yeah, you may have to use the right key to open the Prisoner wagon.

How long before the wagons despawn? I was thinking of using a wagon as a supply depot. Will it disappear or be taken by the enemy?

I found a key in the camp with the prisoner wagon and it still didn't work....

Even the key that you win, when you complete an event, will not work. The only key that will work will be on the leader of that prison wagon (I think). And when he despawns or you can't find him in the the high grass.....

So I advice the devs to give the key to 2 or 3 people in that group, instead of only the leader.

The key you find in the prison camp is only for the cells in the camp.

I think this calls for a work around. Specifically, if the key is found you can open the wagon and release the prisoners. As an alternative, if you move the wagon to a camp, you can z - dismantle the wagons which would release the prisoners and add wood, iron and the horses to the camp inventory. If you want to make it interesting make it so this action can only be performed at camps above a certain level (say camps of 20 warriors or more)

Its a pity they also seem 'bullet proof' - I'd like to be able to kill them all in that case, rather than leave them at the white mans mercy.

When I tried to z-dismantle i got message saying cannot dismantle whilst prisoners are in wagon

why isn't this issue resolved yet makes the game a turn off for all the potential it has
