Farms produce the groceries, so leaving one guy alive at a farm without weapons will guarantee a good source of poison production to the area, don't kill off their delivery wagons when you find them, poison the groceries and let him carry on his delivery run to its destinations.
I didn't know it made the settlers level up, I'll have to try them on my own warriors to see if it does the same thing.
your settlers?
Honestly, I've kind of given up on poisoned groceries for now, the weight to carry them compared to minimal deaths to settlers doesn't really justify their use, I still carry the stems to make the poison in case I come across a wagon and keep the main expansionist town stocked with poisoned groceries but now I'm thinking if the groceries level the settlers up then its probably better to just totally destroy all farms I come across so their good groceries don't help the settlers get any stronger.
