Groceries?
what do they do? i have heard people say you put them into your towns and they increase the skill of the warriors but how? do you need to do anything or do they eat them all on their own? or is that just BS?

I think if a settler eats one he levels up. You can poison them.

You can wipe out enemy POIs by making them into poison groceries and leaving them around.

Groceries can be poisoned to kill those that eat them, just be aware if you make some ahead of time and leave them in one of your camps your own warriors will eat them and die too...I had one of my camps wiped out by accident from that...lesson learned.

Farms produce the groceries, so leaving one guy alive at a farm without weapons will guarantee a good source of poison production to the area, don't kill off their delivery wagons when you find them, poison the groceries and let him carry on his delivery run to its destinations.

I didn't know it made the settlers level up, I'll have to try them on my own warriors to see if it does the same thing.

do they eat them automatically over time?
your settlers?

It seems pretty random, I tried putting poisoned groceries in the main town I defeated to kill off any settlers that try to re-inhabit the town [to slow their expansion]...and they've never eaten any, and yet a farm I poisoned didn't kill the lone settler I left to run it but the nearby fort was somewhat affected [just killed 2 I think]. Leaving pre-made poisoned groceries wiped out one of my camps so I know both settlers and natives may try and eat them.

Honestly, I've kind of given up on poisoned groceries for now, the weight to carry them compared to minimal deaths to settlers doesn't really justify their use, I still carry the stems to make the poison in case I come across a wagon and keep the main expansionist town stocked with poisoned groceries but now I'm thinking if the groceries level the settlers up then its probably better to just totally destroy all farms I come across so their good groceries don't help the settlers get any stronger.
