So many people complaining about controller support...

I'm using an official Microsoft XBox One controller and the game does NOT recognize it, despite all the things the devs have posted here.
Nothing works for me.
How long does it take to get this working. This game has been on Steam for years now.
There's really no point in playing this for me. Money down the drain again....*sigh*

well if you take your time to set it up in steam witch only takes a min then it might work for you ps4 and xbox both work fine even on my other computer running windows

i tried everything the devs answered in other posts. nothing works. and besides I'm not paying hard earned money so I can fix rudimentary stuff by myself.

Dont have to fix anythink the the controllers work fine on linux and windows ps4 and xbox i've tried them all and if you to lazy to set up your controller then dont blame the game or the devs

My Xbox One controller works in game but the minute you open any menu i.e the map (via controller) it goes to the mouse to navigate the options within the menu. Then you can no longer use the controller for the camera.. as it has the mouse arrow moving around the screen as you use the controller.. so if you happen to have the camera looking down when you open a menu, when you exit the menu you will be stuck with the camera looking down... So for me, it is only partially controller supported and with the camera not being one of the working bits on controller its not good for me personally.

The game shows that it "can" or is "supposed" to support the xbox controller you have plugged in, but when you access the other menus, it does not display an interface for when you are using a game controller. It's more of an interface where you're just using purely kb & mouse. You can still move them mouse pointer with the right analog stick, and press A to select menu options, but you cannot use it to scroll through the map, or use the trigger buttons to zoom in or zoom out. And, when you're on horseback, as soon as you start sprinting, the left analog stick direction is so janky or something with the sensitivity of it, that you suddenly can make a sharp change in direction as you're sprinting on horseback. Lastly, when you're in the title screen, and you use the right analog stick, the sensitivity when the pointer moves is like it's set to a 10, when you're pretty much lowered the sensitivity to almost a 1 on the gamepad settings.

I did exactly what you were posting in another topic enable xbox controller support in steam settings etc. Nothing works.
The controller works fine in every other game steam or other platforms. But not in this game unfortunately.
After release I had an older XBox controller which worked just fine. The new XBox One controller seems to be the problem.
Drivers are correct. I checked everything.

If your first controller work but the second doesn't, have you gone back to the first? If it still works that sounds like it's something with your controller and not the game. You have to remember devs can't set up games for every piece of hardware out there.

YEARS? Dude your a little bit dramatic there. It's only been on for like a year and half and it's still EA, YOU DID READ WHAT EARLY ACCESS GAMES MEANS right? you know the big blue thing right on the front of the page before you buy it?

When game is only partially supported. Does that mean it won't do unneeded things like pic. and Unrelated to game play or parts of actual game? I'm in a space I have setup for 3 games but without moving out of closet I'm half way in to setup other table with boxes and plywood. Need another way. Would like to get a controller but not sure. Partially supported. I use Keyboard but now I can't. Windows 10.
