They changed the naming code recently(before today 11-22-2019) so these may no longer be valid. Also, from the Dev comment down below they may have made it so that it changes over time, so keeping a list of preferred names may no longer be possible, long term.

I remembered reading a post, and maybe one or two others that listed starting names and name bonuses. Shortly after I quit playing This Land is My Land for a while. When I came back, making a name reminded me of bonuses and i tried to find the posts that listed these. But I couldn't find them. Now I accidentally stumbled over them again and decided to copy them.

Then I thought there might be others on the Steam forums that would like to try them too. So here ya go. As stated i did not find these. Also there have been quite a few patches since I originally found these. So they may not work.

The name generation has had an update and these are now out of date it seems!

so, that's interesting. Does it mean that at game creation when you enter a name for your character, some bonuses are randomly associated to your character? It is true for every name or it is restricted to specific ones?
If it is restricted, is there a list of them?

Yes, your name, has bonuses or negatives. They seem to have changed it recently, and these names listed here are now different.
Every name will have its own set of changes.
Like now, "chief whispering cardinal" gives maxed out skinning skill

ok, thanks, are those bonuses/negatives applied and displayed directly at character creation so you can change the name to get other ones or do you have to restart if you don't want to keep them?

You see them under the name entry box, so you know what you get before you confirm. Once confirmed that`s it for the game. You would have to delete the game and start a new game to use another name!

The naming algorithm has been changed and every month, it even changes furthermore. So, it is for the player to just try some names and play around with what they want to use. They are just starting stats.

They may be 'just starting stats' but for many they are important stats. Especially at the start. Having a +10, +20 or a +30 to weight can make a serious difference at the start of a new game.

I'll edit the top post to let people know these are probably not valid any longer.

I didn't do anything out of the ordinary. Just edited it. No special code or anything. But whenever there is a new post here and I click to come here the only post i see is my topic post. I have to click to come here like 2-4 times before I see the other posts. It's weird. Doesn't do this on any other game that I'm aware of either. Although I don't really post/interact much on forums.

It is a bug with Steam forums. They will fix it. It has nothing to do with the game.

Thanks for the names guys. Since it changes every month it's nice to have fresh names people can use so they can play the game. Instead of trying to find a name.
