Edit: started from scratch on the next day and got everything, confirmed the game, now I'm really eager to see what's next!
Yeah, same here friend. I feel like it's unnecessary to be so radical, but having something like this be so easy to miss and at the same time the game being so unforgiving about this totally turns me off. And I was enjoying the story, atmosphere and all, but the gameplay isn't that interesting to replay the whole thing just to collect this stuff.
I hope someone will come to tell me I'll still be able to backtrack, but if that's not the case I'll stop playing for now and let the game be for a while. Perharps eventually I'll be up to starting over from a new game.
Thanks for the answer friend. I guess I'll play something else for the rest of this week and try again from the beggining when I feel like it. It's still a nice game but missables are just something I seriously dislike.
I do. In the yellow kingdom, you will come across one of these portals where your character will sit in a meditation like pose and you have to input a combination of simbols and colors to advance.
The regular combination is easy to obtain, but there's a secret one that you can get that, when you input on the very same portal, takes you to a different place where you can find the floppy disk.
If you've left the kingdom or walked on the macbook-horse-thing, you will not be able to backtrack to get this. Only way to get it now is replaying the whole game.
You're welcome. If you need any help with some of the missables and such, check out my guides over at the TrueAchievements website. I wrote a detailed guide (and some videos for boss fights) on both the Xbox and Windows 10 versions. They will ensure you know when look out for the Floppy Disks before going too far!

It took me ~4h to finish the game for a second time, and that's even after defeating the final boss. You can stop at the red area if you just want to get the floppy disk achievement - the memory that you unlock isn't worth it to get if you don't care about achievements. And no, there is no difference between finishing the game with and without the first memory unlocked.
